I had posted before about trying to decide on dresses, thanks for all who gave guidance and for generally being such a helpful board (http://forums.theknot.com/discussion/1041041/deciding-on-a-dress-updated#latest)

The Badgley Mischka came in in my size and it's perfect! I can even even zip it by myself. Not at all what I would have expected to love but I now can't imagine anything else being my wedding dress. I'm including some pictures (technical skills permitting). It is a bit more of a light champagne than my bathroom lighting really captures.

I am thinking a finger tip or elbow length veil, a belt, a necklace and a cuff may be in order.

My current thinking on my bridal party is probably just my sister as my MOH, and I want her to have a fair amount of discretion on what she wears, but I'm thinking deep purple or a dusty blue. Maybe in a silk dupioni or something that would not be super shiny but would compliment the satin on my dress.

Edit: Just trying to fix weird font stuff.

  • I really like that dress.  If you are only having your sister in the BP I woud let her decide the dres fabric.  In my experience it won't look weird.  For our wedding I wore a taffeta gown and the BM's wore chiffon. It looked just fine!

Veil, sash, necklace and cuff is a lot. Too much. Just because the dress is a blank canvas doesn't mean to clutter it up with everything you can find.

Start by choosing between a sash and necklace.

Personally, I'd skip both and find a lovely statement earring and a pretty but not too attention grabbing bracelet. You could buy something like this:

I would just do earrings, bracelet, veil, and perhaps a belt.  Examples of some ladies in more simple gowns and how it looks with different accessories:

I LOOOOVE your dress, and you look absolutely STUNNING in it!!! Congrats!!!

I wouldn't wear a belt with that dress because I think it would take away from the gathering/ruching around the waist.

If it were me, I would stick to one of the following options: (a) veil, statement earrings, maybe a bracelet (but no cuff), no necklace; (b) veil, simple earrings, statement necklace, no bracelet, or; © veil, delicate earrings (maybe delicate drop earrings?) and delicate bracelet or cuff. If you're more of a "glamorous" type, then I'd say a or b, if you prefer more classic and traditional, then c is probably better.

And I agree with PPs that any fabric would be fine for your sister!

  • That is a super sexy dress! It looks great on you.

I'd avoid a sash or belt. The dress doesn't need it. I'd wear a fabulous hairpiece/veil and some earrings with a bracelet, no necklace.

  • Ok, y'all are so sweet. Thanks for the compliments and letting me be a little AW for a minute :) It is so exciting to find the right thing that makes me feel like a million bucks.

I think the consensus is no necklace and I think y'all are right. I have always imagined having a sparkly wedding belt but I think you all might be right that with the gathering it may not be necessary. The dress also has a killer exposed side zipper in gold.

I think big earrings, bracelet, veil is probably the best way to go.
