I'm an inch and a half taller than my Fiancé!

Hi everyone!  I'm starting to look for shoes for my wedding day.  I know I want royal blue shoes but I'm not entirely sure about the heel height.  I'm an inch and a half taller than my fiancé and I don't want to be towering over him for the pictures.  I found some Kate Spade and Badgley Mischka shoes that I love but the heel height of both is 3 1/2 inches!  That would make me 5 inches taller than him!  My sisters keep telling me to get flats or kitten heels but I haven't found anything I like.  Do you have suggestions other than looking on Zappos?  Thanks!!!!!!!

Do you normally wear heels when you are together? If so, then this really isn't an issue. You'll look like your tall beautiful self as you normally do. If you don't wear them regularly, then you may want to stick to slightly shorter heel anyway for comfort. What kind of shoes are you looking at?

Your pictures will be beautiful whether you tower over your husband or not. If 3 1/2 in heels are normal for you, go with that.

This.  You are always taller then your FI and everyone knows it.  I don't understand the point of worrying about it on your wedding day when you don't typically worry about it any other day.

Quick story.  One of couple friends got married two years ago.  The groom is a bit of a self-centered ass, (self-admittedly) and was the same height as the bride.  So he told her she couldn't wear heels because it would liik bad.  They have been married two and a half years and she STILL brings up the fact to her few girlfriends that she resents him for it!  I could write a book about the crazy things he does, but I don't get involved (unless he does something damaging, then I'd get involved). 

My point is, the height doesn't really matter, and you should pick the shoes you like the best.  At the end of the day it won't be that big of a deal anyway.

Do whatever makes you feel comfortable. If you like the heels, buy them! 

Being happily in the moment with your FI on your wedding day is much more important than the height of your shoes. Priorities.

I love Sala by Kate Spade, although Emelia has a lower heel.

Have you looked at Rivka by Nina?  That could be a nice compromise.

Or, it's kind of last winter, but smoking slip ons were big.  If it's a winter wedding, a blue velvet smoking slipper could be comfy but fun.

OP -- I think we are shoe twins, or shoe inspiration twins anyway. I love those blue satin Badgley Mischkas. 

I agree with the other ladies, do wear what you want. I was in a wedding where the bride and groom were almost the same height, and the whole wedding party was taller than them. The bride made everyone wear flats, as if that even fixed the problem. 

However, the thing I worry about is my feet getting sore or tired in them over the course of the day, so I have also been looking to see if I can find a lower heel that I would still enjoy.

This. I attended a wedding a couple of weeks ago & the bride chose to wear flats because she is already about 4 inches taller than the groom. Regardless, the height difference is reality & forever will be. In their photos they look gorgeous, happy, and in love. Don't fret about this - wear what makes you happy.

Have you considered white ballet slippers?  My daughter glued jewels on them and wore them.

Same here. Without heels we are almost the same height, with me looking taller thn him already. I also said ROYAL BLUE SHOES ONLY. So I found the Sadie Cobalt Blue heels on 6pm.com, ordered them, and when they got here, not only were they uncomfortable (I don't wear heels at all anyhow), and I hated that I towered over my fiancé. The heel is 1.75 inches. So I promptly returned them ndv ordered some royal blue (suede) flats off Payless shoe source. It's not very dressy but my gown isn't formal bs we are doing the Vegas wedding thing. I will try them out and see if they work. Was under $30 so if they aren't right for the dress, I will just wear them to work or whatever.
