Engagement Photos Today - UPDATED WITH PICS!

We're meeting the photographer today for an afternoon shoot at an old fort. I'm terribly nervous - while I've lost quite a bit of weight (50lbs down, 50lbs to go!) I still don't look quite like I wish I did. And it's going to be warm ... so will I be uncomfortable in my sweater? What if we're super awkward, and nothing comes out fun or cute?

Chillax! You'll look radiant because you're happy! 

If you're concerned about it being too warm for the sweater, wear a cute top under it so you can take the sweater off if necessary.

Don't worry! Honestly, the happiness couples have and the love they have for each other is what shows through in engagement photos. They'll turn out fun and cute because you both are fun and cute.  

Many photogs recommend having a pre-session beer, for what that's worth.

Remember that this is the time that you will get to know your photog and they will get to know you. It may be a little awkward at first, but your photog should be able to make it a comfortable experience. Just have fun with it!

Yay!!!! Don't worry, it will be fun! At first it was a bit awkward for FI and I, but after a bit we got more comfortable. And I'm sure you will look awesome. Enjoy the Proseco!

It went okay! I wish he had stopped me during the sessions to tell me my hair was crap or my lipstick had worn off. I think I drove the photographer nuts because I was so nervous and all I wanted to do was play around and laugh - FI and I are not serious people. So based on my first look photos I'm happy but I'm not thrilled. Not because of the photographer, but because of my outfit choice and my crappy hair.

My photographer (sister) kept trying to make us do serious shots and we look so stupid in all of them. We are not serious people, as maybe you can tell from my posts. But the ones where we are goofing off and laughing are so amazing and really show our personalities.

I love the pics! I don't see anything wrong with your hair, either!

I felt the same way about my photog, though. There are a few pics where my hair was clearly kinda ruffled and messed up. I also had to refresh my own lipstick on my own, he never told me the lipstick was wearing away. Maybe they think our FI's should be telling us this stuff lol.

Thanks guys I really appreciate that. While our photographer did a fabulous job, the more I look at these (and the ones I didn't post, there were some atrocious ones) the more I feel awful about them. I think part of the reason is that the photog posted the first cut on his Facebook page so it's public and some of them are so awful it makes me want to cry. I wrote to him asking him to take a few down but would I be out of line asking him to take them all down until we get a final cut?

Also, in the US you have automatic rights over the use of your image. If you are not happy with the images being made public, you have every right to ask for them to be taken down. 

And I should say that my "no, no, no!" was uncalled for. You have every right to your emotions. But I would seriously give up a lot to have some of the gorgeous photos you just posted. Especially the first two.

I like these and many others but some are so bad. Which is fine I accepted that not every photo would be grand. But these are publicly accessible on his site, including the bad ones. And that is freaking me out.

Thanks all. I wrote to him and asked him to remove the rough cut ones that made me look so bad but I've calmed down about the whole thing, even updated my wedding website with the nice ones. Heck I even went back to the rough cuts and found a few more that I loved!
