  • Share Sugargirl! You need to show them off too :)

  • What exactly are bridals?  Do you take them on a different day than your wedding?

Bridals are a southern tradition. They are taken usually a month before the wedding. Some view it as art work to be displayed, others love to have the pictures of this special woman in their life. You display your bridal pictures at the reception. Many choose to hang their portraits in their home alongside their wedding pictures.

I used my hair and makeup trial for my bridals.

  • For some reason I had it in my head that this was a northern thing. Clearly I'm not a proper southern belle...

Ah cool, being an NYC girl I never heard of them!  That's a great use for hair and makeup trials!

  • I am southern but didn't do them. I actually didn't realize it was considered a southern thing!

My family is all from Long Island. They were like, you're doing what in your wedding dress now? They didn't understand why I was taking pictures early. In my cousins weddings up there, I always remember a bridal session in the parents home before the bride left for the ceremony, so the same day.

  • Here are mine!

The quality isn't the greatest bc I did screen grabs of the PDF proofs (the images are on my personal laptop).  I was a bit disappointed because it was muggy and rainy on the day of my pics, so we had to take them inside AND the humidity was making me sweat and was killing my hair.  But, I think we got some good ones!image

This one just makes me laugh - I was dying to spin in my wedding dress, so I did - and my photog grabbed a few pics of it.

  • Whoa I love your blue shoes! Love the one of your twirling. Are you going to display that first one? You're beautiful!

Aw thanks!  And I loved the blue shoes, too!  I've actually worn them a few times since the wedding.  Yes, we displayed the first one at the wedding.  It threw a few people off because I took the bridal pics at our reception venue, so they were like "wait, when did she do this???"
