picking an officiant?!?!

How did everyone hear pick their officiants for their ceremony? We had someone lined up to do this ever since we were both younger, but unfortionatly he cannot do this anymore. So i didnt know how to go about picking one out, should i just google online or what?

I'd google for officiants in your area. Or even on here you can find services that are somewhat near your location. Click Local Vendors, then choose where you're from, then under Your Ceremony, click Officiants and Premarital Counseling.

We booked our officiant not to long ago. We found her at a bridal show. She is awesome! Her name is Pam. Her company is called matrimony and more. She is based out of Lansing but she will travel. She lets you design your own ceremony (gives you lots of samples to pick and choose parts from to create what you want or you can write something yourself). There are lots of girls on the lansing vendor board who have used her. She is such a nice person and is very quick about responding to emails! Check her out if you want http://matrimonyandmore.com

Ask the management your venue if they can recommend someone.  That is how we found ours.

Officiant is the person who is marrying you, like the prist or judge.

I am having a hard time with this.  Looking for a lawyer to just come and marry us but it's not easy finding one.  Gonna check the yellow pages (or google).

During our venue search, my FI and I came to a location where they put on a "mock wedding" for us to see what it would be like. The officiant was warm, relaxing and had a great sense of humor. I asked for his card and now we're hiring him.
