Today Just Went Down the Toilet

No pun intended.

I just went downstairs to feed my boss' fish and they were ALL dead.

So I called my boss and he's REALLY upset. "I poisoned them!!" because he changed the chemicals in the tank yesterday.  Great.

Oh....I have nothing else to add. I can honestly say I have never dealt with a situation like this.

 

ETA: I suggest wine.

@Maggie0829 I have fancy goldfish and they get really big. . . like big enough a plumber would need to be involved if I tried to flush them ;-)

And yeah, I mean if they were really big flushing them could cause major issues a plunger couldn't fix.

Oh no! I'm hoping they aren't koi fish... They aren't easy to flush. Well, maybe you can give them a proper burial like the picture, or would that be adding insult to injury? Your boss probably killed his fish unintentionally so please don't beat yourself up. I'm so sorry this happened to you, but it's not something a few glasses of wine won't fix!

Oh man. Wine. 

My sister was once house sitting for a friend of hers who's a nationally known artist. Dude is a big deal. While she was house sitting, his favorite cat up and died. The cat had been sick, so it wasn't too much of a shock, but still. She had to call him and tell him it died. Awkward. And so sad. She thought the entire art world was going to be against her, but he understood.

Definitely were koi fish, so no flushing lol

I was house sitting for FI's brother and he had 6 aquariums. The power went off in the middle of the night one night, and when I went downstairs the next morning to feed them all the fish were dead because apparently if the power goes out you have to reset the filters. Who knew.

The fact that they were koi fish makes me think of The Office episode where Michael falls into the koi pond. Anyone else remember that one?
