Anyone have a Nexus Card??

What is the interview like??  My friend had an easy one, but reading online, it sounds crazy stressful.  What did they ask you??

Re: Anyone have a Nexus Card??

  • My coworker does. He said the questions were pretty easy and routine.  I think with the Nexus card, you also get approved for TSA precheck, which is what I want. He said it was worth it since he goes to Canada often.
  • My FI is a pilot and he has a redcard that allows him 'behind the scenes' at any and all airports. (obviously kind of necessary to be able to do his job). He can use it while travelling as a civilian to bypass security much like the nexus card. We've talked about gettting me one in the future so that we can both breeze through.

For his I think the most complicated thing was that they wanted him to prove his whereabouts since he was of legal age. So addresses and dates lived there. So he had to go back through 12 years of moving from apartment to apartment and try and figure out the addresses etc and exactly when he was in each place. It took a long time since he had moved around alot in his early twenties. He believes that you need something similar for the nexus card.

  • Ugh, that sounds like a lot to try and find proof of address for that many moves.  From what I can tell, I only need proof of current address, so I think I might need to dig up our mortgage, as DH has his name on everything.  I'm a secondary name, but his is the only one listed on the actual bills.

We'r just getting it more to avoid lines.  We only go to the US 2-3 times a year, but coming home from international travel will be nice too if we can skip a lot of the customs lines.  Currently we power walk to pass people on the way there to avoid as much of the first line and then are usually carry on only to breeze through the final check.  But we've also been lucky in not hitting customs when 5 other flights do as well

  • Yes, it might just be current address for the nexus card as obviously it doesn't have to be as indepth as the pilots passes.

But yea it was a pain in the ass. And kinda of painful for the FI having to relive a really shitty point in his life by having to go dig up these addresses.
