Positive vibes please!

I'm going to see a dermatologist to,or row about 5 cysts/bumps on my scalp. I'm pretty nervous about why they have appeared and of course what it could mean. One of them is about the size of an M&M. Gross I know. Fingers crossed it's all benign and easily treatable. We get married in May, and I want to be all clear to try for babies as soon as possible. So, healing and positive thoughts would be very welcome. Thanks! jenLD

  • Good luck!! It's great that you're going to get them checked out. I went to the doctor earlier this year to have the dermatologist look at several moles that had changed and they were all good. Best wishes that you get a clean bill of health tomorrow!
  • Thanks Ic07. Not being alone with it makes this a little more bare-able. My fiancée will be joining me, but I think women are a little more understanding about how one issue can effect another. He is amazing, trying to calm me. But I can tell he is worried too.
  • Be sure to report back to us! I know health stuff can be really scary. And it can be helpful to have a place where you can vent to strangers and share concerns that you don't want to share with people IRL. *hugs*
  • Well, I saw the doctor today and the good news is nothing looks like cancer or other obvious disease. He would however, like to take them out in case any get infected. He says infection would be way worse. The procedure is same day surgery, with twilight sedation and takes about an hour. I'm doing it next month. I'm a little nervous, mostly about pain and proper healing. The best news is I'm covered by insurance. The vain part of me is happy that if they have to cut hair, I can attach extensions for the wedding.

I'm glad they seem to be benign! And it's awesome that the procedure will be covered by insurance.
