It's official: FI's a keeper (partner brag - long)

After a very eventful road trip to Missouri for Christmas, I feel the need to brag on FI. In no particular order, he:

-Drove 9 hours with two dogs in the car

-Put up with my crazy fam for a whole week and enthusiastically participated in all our silly traditions

-Entertained my rowdy little cousins

-Listened to my dad talk for a whole hour

-Volunteered to do the dishes, tidy up the basement and fix some things in my grandma's house - it made her so happy!

-Went out drinking with my BMs and I

-Helped me sort through two storage units and a basement full of stuff from my mom's house, and was super patient with me being all emotional about it

-Found a way to fit all the stuff I wanted into a uhaul trailer

-Drove the trailer all the way back to Atlanta 

-Moved all the stuff into his second floor condo

I am so unbelievably happy that the week went so well, and I can't believe he did all that for me. FI is seriously the best!

Wow that sounds awesome!

My partner brag is that Fi just painted out our fireplace corner and a feature wall in our living room, basically by himself.  My mom helped us put up some textured wallpaper earlier today so along with the paint, it looks awesome.  And when I asked what I could do to help, Fi told me to "sit there and look cute."  So I read a magazine and drank a beer while he painted the wall.

Yep, this is our new place!  We've been here almost two months now.  My sister just moved all her stuff in a couple weeks ago and one corner of the living area is still full of boxes and furniture, but it feels really good to get some color on the walls and feel a little more "moved in."

The fireplace is the best perk of this building.  Our old, smaller apartment had one, too.  It's just gas so you don't get that "roaring" wood fire awesomeness, but you can turn it on with a light switch and it throws off enough heat that the cats like laying in front of it.  And it's just a nice feature in the room.

DH has been wonderfully helpful this week as we move into our house. He even put up some Christmas lights for me. Today while I'm at work, he is hooking up the dryer and washing machine, putting timers on our outside lights, staining the garage floor (but its frigid outside..) and he's moving in our kitchen table and coffee tables. Gradually it will look like a home! My clothes are all moved over, we just need my bed and we can sleep there!
