White or Ivory

Hello everyone!!! I'm getting married May 2015 on Memorial Day, our colors are going to be royal blue and red. What color would go best Ivory or white? I've fallen in love with an ivory dress and my soon to be husband wanted to wear white? What to do? PLEASE Help? Ivory or white?

White & ivory look pretty similar to me (I had a hard time telling the difference in some of the samples I tried on), so choose whatever you like best or whatever looks best on your skin tone. I'm extremely pale, so I chose ivory because some stark white dresses looked crazy on me. I tend to lean towards ivory because WHITE can be a little intense. If you fell in love with an ivory dress, I say go with it!

Hello! I just went and picked out our tuxes and thought I would share this very good thought with you. The girl at the bridal shop said that if your dress is off white (or not a pure white) that if he is in a pure white jacket or shirt, it may make your dress look a little dingy in comparison in pictures. I thought it was a great observation. Just food for thought!

Just to add. My dress is a diamond white. We went with ivory shirts for the guys. Dark gray suit.

White can be very harsh and almost have a blue-ish tint to it. I'd go with ivory! Especially if you're going to be outside, I think in the sunshine, it won't really matter too much!

I was torn over this same issue just yesterday because my dress is ivory and the flower girl's dress I fell in love with was white. I looked at some pictures where this happened and it didn't make the bride's dress look dingy, but she did say those weren't the professional photos and she would post them later when she received them. I would say though, I think your dress trumps his suit, so he should switch to ivory unless he's really adamant about keeping his white color. Is it his entire tux/suit or just the vest and tie? 

Happy ending to my ivory vs white dilemma, I found a much better flower girl dress that was in ivory (and deep purple, one of my colors)
