Anyone else an idiot like me?

I've been stalking the dress I wanted to order for my rehearsal for a few weeks, hoping it would go on sale. Like an idiot.

Today, it went out of stock.

Goodbye, rehearsal dress. I'm sad I never even got to try you on.

Has this ever happened to you? It's a total first world problem, but also a crappy feeling. I should've just ordered it.

  • I'm a total impulse shopper. If/when I find something I love, I pull the trigger almost immediately. Which probably isn't any better, because I end up spending way more money.

  • sorry.

But the answer would be no for me.  I don't stalk clothes though.

I was also a rebel and wore black to my RD.  I never did understand why brides always feel the need to wear white to every pre-wedding event.   Even my shower I wore black.

@lyndausvi I feel ya, at first I hadn't planned on wearing white to every pre-wedding event. But then I figured there won't be many occasions in my life to wear all white, so I might as well go big or go home haha

  • Nah, I don't stalk clothes. I typically try to talk myself out of them for as long as possible. Usually I'll give myself a week, and if I'm still thinking about it, I'll go back and get it.
  • I'm really  not picky about clothes. I wear anything and everything.

Except wedding dresses. I told the sales lady that if it has sparkles or was strapless she could go ahead and put it back. Don't even show it to me.

I said "no bling, no lace, no train, no puffy skirt. I want strapless and prefer a corset back".

2 different stores brought me everything I said I didn't want.    One bitch brought me a dress that had a lot of bling, laces, etc with a huge train and it was all puffy.    It would have been nice for a church wedding I guess, but I was getting married on a beach.    They fucking just would not listen.  They were all "just try it on, you never know until you try it on".  Yo bitch, I'm getting married on a fucking beach I don't want a dress that is 100lbs dragging on the sand.    Geez. I was so pissed.

Then I walk into the 3rd place and from the door I saw the one.  Strapless, corset, little train which I could put a bustle.   That was it.  A little over budget, but it was the one.

  • There were these shoes I was thinking of getting, like a year ago. They were in my amazon wish list, and I finally decided I wanted them, and they were discontinued. Boo!

I wore the same dress to my shower and my rehearsal. It was blue.

  • I stalk clothes and sales. Yes, things get discontinued all the time while I'm waiting for the sale, but I figure there's always another outfit and sale coming along. It does work out.
  • @NYCMercedes good to know! There are a few others that I'm keeping my eye on, so there's still hope haha I need to find a balance between stalking & just pulling the trigger. I just love a bargain oh so much, it's like a sport to me

  • I've been stalking this mustard color coat at target since October!

The damn thing would NEVER go on sale!

Finally yesterday it was $15 off so I bought it!

I wore it today but I probably should have gotten a size bigger... ah well!

I'm not sure what size you wear, but it's on eBay and even has a "Buy It Now" option. They'll ship to the States too (not sure where you are).

  • Working in retail for so many years, and consoling customers when they realize their coveted item is out-of-stock, has taught me to impulse buy way more than I should.

Plus most places will do price adjustments.
  • I'm a clothes stalker - mostly because I buy most of my clothes from NY & Company (looove that site), and the new arrivals are always more expensive and will ultimately end up on sale a few weeks later. So I put them in my cart or wishlist and wait. But I have waited too long and missed out on things plenty of times as well.
  • Yep I know that feeling! It took me forever to get some of my fancier modcloth dresses. They kept going out of stock within mins! But I felt very victoruos when I finally got them haha. But I put a stop to my shopping since I have more than enough clothes.
