Allure 8965 Undergarments, HELP!!!!

Okay, so. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress but I am petrified of having bulges and lines all day. I have tried it on several times and it looks great but I want to feel comfortable "together" on the big day instead of having to worry about sucking in all day. I have had alterations and it fits like a glove but we all know what I mean when I say most fitted, lace wedding dresses show every single nook and cranny. Any brides have any advice on undergarments?? Know anyone who had this dress or a similar dress and what they wore?? I am getting married on May 2, 2015 sooo time is sort of of the essence here! :):)

  • I am guessing you are mainly worried about the tummy area?  If so, look into a pair of Spanx.  The one's that hit at or right above your waist and come down to mid thigh.  These should just help to smooth everything out in that area as well as help with any thigh chaffing you may get due to being a bit hot under the dress.

We have the same wedding date and I bought a very similar Allure dress! My seamstress is sewing in cups so that I don't have to worry about a bra (because there really isn't any bra that can be worn comfortably and not show with that open back.

I agree with Maggie on the Spanx. If you try to wear multiple pieces, there is more of a chance of weird lines showing. Just get one good pair of Spanx that go up a little above the waist and down to your thigh. That should do the trick. And then talk to your seamstress about having cups sewn in so that you don't need a bra. (I'm a 34 D so I needed some support, and my seamstress has assured me that the way she sews the cups in gives some support and "a little lift.")

Good luck! Less than 3 months to go! :)

  • This is the dress I'm in love with!!! Haven't tried it on yet--think sewn in cups would work for H-I cups? We're generally screwed when it comes to bridal undergarments...
