The hotel really isn't doing anything wrong.  That's a normal check in time and of course they aren't going to make a change for one bride.

You can certainly try to get out of the contract, but I really don't think it's that big of a deal.  The bigger deal to me is the 30 minutes from the venue to the hotel.

  • Yeah, the distance is why we asked for the early check-in time. Since the hotel was one of the three preferred vendors I figured there shouldn't be any problems checking in and getting to the ceremony in time. The cheaper hotel is willing allow an early check-in so I guess we'll just have to keep weighing the pros/cons!

Well, for any lurkers, this is why you ask before you sign the contract and get it in writing, rather than assume.

But for the OP, if it were me, I'd probably be able to live with that.  But if you can't, then try to break your contract and stick with the other hotel.  Is there a fee to break your contract, or is it...

My annoyance with the 30 minute drive has nothing to do with the check in time.  The point, for me, of getting a room is so I don't have to travel beyond that.

  • I agree with PPs. The hotel has done nothing wrong. Your problems are self-inflicted. You chose a hotel block THIRTY MINUTES from your venue? Why would you do that? You didn't bother to ask any questions or verify any information before signing a contract. And now you're mad at the hotel?

Cut your losses and see if you can get a hotel block closer to your venue. Maybe this time you might want to ask about check in times and early check in before you sign the contract.
