Surprise Shower - No Registry!

I am invited to / going to a surprise bridal shower in a few weeks for a friend.  The problem is she isn't registered anywhere!  I know she is super into cooking but I have no idea what she needs or has already!  Obviously I can provide a gift receipt but that's probably a hassle if she has to return a ton of gifts.  

I thought I could be unique and do something like this http://americanlasercrafts.com/products/personalized-cutting-boards-10-different-designs (I actually got a living social deal for it) but I am not 100% sure if she is changing her name or not and her MOH doesn't know for sure.  Her save the date she has 2 wedding dates (I THINK she is having a small ceremony/reception one day and a big party the next but I honestly am not sure since she doesn't have a wedding website).  So unfortunately this idea may be out.

Any suggestions for what to get my friend for a bridal shower gift?

This sounds like a terrible idea, like she didn't want a shower at all. :-/ I can't say that I'd want to participate in this, so I don't really have ideas.

Her fiancé knows about it so I hope he would have vetoed it if she really didn't want one?  Who knows though.  I was thinking maybe copper mugs, lime juice and ginger beer?  Because moscow mules are DELICOUS!

Agree with lolo. If she didn't register it sounds like she didn't really want a shower in the first place. Sounds like a bad idea.

I'm confused by all of this, especially the bolded.  What are you actually invited to?

All that aside, you know your friend way better than we do.  I would steer clear of anything personalized and get something tailored to her interests (cooking, Moscow mules, whatever) with a gift receipt.

False alarm...she created a registry over the weekend!
