Re: Fitness Check-in: Week of 5/4/2015

  • Monday 5-4-2015:

I worked out every day this weekend!  I am on Week 6 of PiYo, the end is in sight.

Today is PiYo Buns (so tough, but I love it).  I have a bunch of healthy foods packed, plus a little treat.

Breakfast:  Coffee w/ 1 tbsp whole milk, breakfast shake (vanilla protein, 1/2 banana, baby spinach, 1 tbsp PB, 1/2 c. almond milk)
Lunch:  Hashweh and a few bites of grilled lemon chicken, sugar snap peas, pineapple, 2 small Dove chocs (80 cals)
Snack:  plantain chips and 1/4 c. fresh salsa
Dinner:  Chile limon chicken thigh, 1/2 cheese quesadilla, cucumber/tomato/cilantro/lime salad
  • Monday

    Breakfast-yogurt with blueberries

    Lunch- bean and vegetable soup

    Snack-apple and a snack pack

    Dinner- 2 slice of pizza

Snack-fruit either grapes or mixed fresh fruit I bought

My goal is also to drink 60 oz of water today

Work out- I probably won't get to anything today but I really need to focus on getting back into a smal workout even if it's just a half an hour2-3 times a week.

    Anniversary

  • Ok I FINALLY got my ass into gear and don't feel terrible and lazy for not posting here lol. Last week I started a new healthy eating thing... If anyone has heard of Whole30, it's pretty much that but not as strict because my lifestyle of getting up too early for work, staying up too late since I only see BF at night, and eating out all the time makes that hard, but I am following it when I can. I bought a bunch of veggies and fruit and meat and started cooking most of my own meals! YAY ME! This morning I ate a baked sweet potato for breakfast and it was delicious!

I've been drinking tons of water and haven't had any soda or sugary drinks in over a week.

I also went running once, made it .80 miles before I had to stop because my lungs were on fire. I did everything the doctor said, used my inhaler 15 minutes before, etc. and I was just super disappointed in myself, two years ago I could run three miles no problem! Stupid asthma! Ah, well. I will carry on, I really really want to get better!
  • Yesterday I started my month-long "diet." I put it in quotations because I always try to watch what I eat and count calories, but this month will be a little stricter than normal. I'm cutting out alcohol entirely and going to limit my sugar intake as well. I'm also going to work out 5 days per week. The only exception will be Memorial Day weekend because we'll be out of town at our friend's cabin, but I won't binge there like I normally do on junk food and alcohol lol.

    Today:
B - Nutrigrain bar (was running late this morning, and work provides these to us for free)
    S - Greek yogurt
L - spinach tortilla with turkey and cheddar jack cheese, Goldfish crackers, natural applesauce, and sugar free Jello
    S - almonds (no salt)
D - Chicken (haven't decided how I'm cooking it yet), rolls, peas
E - PiYo Upper and Lower Body

I'm not ready to get back on the healthy train just yet (vacation + anniversary and all) but tomorrow I will be here!

  • Saturday I felt like we were healthy because we were running from model home to model home deciding what we liked didn't like while we were pricing stuff out.  We also skipped lunch in the whole process which I think bit us in the butts later :( .

Sunday we went for what was supposed to be a 14.3mi bike ride - mine ended up being 15.7mi which is fine, I kept turning around to make sure the others weren't stuck (as I don't think they had a patch kit or any tools on them).  I feel a little sore/beat up from it today (I ride a road bike and it was a 'light trail' ride - I have no suspension so every bump I feel).

Today I just need to clean up around the house. So no 'real' exercise (unless I get my spinning bike cleaned up).

    My meals today:
    Breakfast:  NS Bagel & coffee
    Snack:  Grapes & yogurt
Lunch: Salad & NS Chicken Noodle Soup
Snack:  String cheese & baby carrots
Dinner:  NS ravioli & probably green beans
    Dessert: Chocolate nougat bar

I will probably put in a NS shake before dinner as well (I have the calories to add it).

  • I've been terrible about posting.  Ack!  Lots of birthday parties the last few weeks has had me seriously derailed.  And just to kick myself a little harder, I have not worked out even one little bit.  Today is a new day.  Today it starts.  However this time I mean it!
