Ring Bearer/Flower Girl

We are having a short ceremony (likely less than 20 minutes).  I am trying to decide if it would be to much to have the ring bearer and flower girl stay standing with the rest of the wedding party.  I would obviously position them on the ends so that if they get antsy they can be grabbed by a nearby parent.

I am not really worried about our ring bearer as much as he will be 8 at the time of the wedding, but the flower girl will be 4.5 (though she's a mature 4.5).

I'm not really sure what your question is here.

Typically, the RB and FG would stand at the ends of either side of the WP.

  • Sure, they can stand if they want to.  Maybe you should ask them if they'd like to stand for the whole ceremony or sit with their parents - let them make the decision.

    Also? I'm rolling my eyes at "mature 4.5 year old."  She's 4.5 - she's a regular kid.
  • Uh, okay? Would advanced be better? She's very bright and social and gets along better with older children and adults than her peers.

Just have them sit down, which is what they usually do.  It's going to be very distracting watching them fidget and fuss for 20 minutes, not to mention having a parent come up and coax them to sit down.  Just eliminate all that stress and have them sit when they reach the front.
  • We are having ours sit down because even the most composed little ones freak out occassionally in front of a lot of people. We are putting their parents in the first few rows so they can jump up after the ceremony and walk back down the aisle
