Wedding Pictures on FB

I set up a Wedding Turtle account put info on back of programs cards on tables, but so far no one has uploaded a single photo! Same with FB, not one photo!! I've asked a few people to post a few, but still....not a single photo! What's the best way to ask? I want to see pictures of my wedding! :

Re: Wedding Pictures on FB

  • We didn't do those little cards & I'm glad we didn't. We only received a handful of photos from friends also. Not a single friend put anything on FB. Weird!

If it's someone that you know well, you can just call/text them. For anyone else, I'd just post a generic status like 'hey, if anyone took pics at our wedding, I'd really appreciate if you could forward them to me.' I'm not a fan of publicizing my wedding on FB, so we didn't do that.
  • We probably had 3-4 friends post a handful of photos on FB. A lot of pics were taken by relatives who don't have or use FB, so there's that also. I still haven't gotten any pics from them.

Like PP said, I hated talking about my wedding on FB because only a fraction of my friends list was there/invited, and I hate when I see statuses on FB about weddings to the extreme (like a status every other day talking about it). We personally just waited for pro pics and enjoyed the photos we took with our own camera and those our few friends posted/passed on. If you did want to post something, I think PPs suggestion is what I would go with.

If it's a really close friend and you know they took photos while there, you can text/call and say, "Hey when you get a chance, I'd love to see some of the wedding pics you took!" I would be more inclined to ask on a one-on-one basis rather than post something for all of FB to see.

  • You can ask family/friends you know took a bunch of photos but still be prepared to not see anything.

It's been 45 days out for me and I have yet to see ONE photo.  We've begged our photographer for even 1 finished photo.  Nada.  We also asked a member of the family who took a million photos.  Nada.
  • We *did* do the cards at each table (got 250 business cards for free from vistaprint, so they only cost me the $7 in shipping to print them)... and no one has used the online album I set up. That bums me out a bit, but we had about 3 friends post albums (mostly pictures of people dancing) and a few family photos here and there from people on their cell phones.

I intend to pass around the online album via word of mouth with some of my friends (who I knew took pictures) and see what happens. If nothing else, there's a reason we spent $1500 on a professional photographer...
  • Since most of my cousins are girls, the next day I was bombarded with pictures I was tagged in from facebook :) Since they uploaded them first, I was able to ask them to also forward me some family pics not just the ones I was in.  :)

  • As a guest to weddings and soon to be bride, I usually wait a few days to a week before putting anything up.  I don't want to step on the MOB or MOG by putting up pictures "first."  It sounds strange, but I thought that as a guest at the wedding I shouldn't be putting up pictures.  I am probably over cautious. :)
