How long for BP to walk down the aisle?

We're trying to figure out if we need one song or two, or maybe even more, for our processional. I'm thinking we're going to need at least two, as the one we have selected for me is only 3 1/2 minutes long. We have 5 BMs, a flower girl and a ring bearer, and I will be arriving in a horse-drawn carriage. Any one have any idea how many minutes we're looking at taking to get all those folks down the aisle?

That's a really tough question to answer without know how long your aisle is.  I went to my venue and actually timed how long it took to walk down the aisle and was suprised at how short it was! Even walking super slow it only took something like 30 seconds lol.   I had to adjust things so that my entire wedding party (including me) walked in to one song and even at that our pianist had to shorten the song.

  • Yeah totally depends on how long the aisle is. My "aisle" is pretty long and includes stairs. I've seen aisles that are probably 20 feet. It probably won't take as long as you are thinking it will. I would think 3 1/2 minutes is fine. If you're nervous maybe you can have the BMs walk to a different song than you?

  • Our ceremony is outdoors so the aisle is however many rows of chairs we will have to set up. I like the idea of going to the venue and timing how long it takes. I want everyone to be up at the front before I step out of the carriage so I'll play with how long all of that takes. I'm probably waaay overestimating it!
