crater of diamonds state park?

has anyone ever gone there? did you have fun? I was looking at taking a little trip over memorial day weekend - thought it would be something different, and it's a 6-7 hour drive for us, so doable for a long weekend. 

DK says that if he finds a diamond, he's off the hook for buying me jewelry for a while.

I've had quite a few friends who have visited and searched.  It seems to be a mixed bag, with no real rhyme or reason as to who enjoyed it and who didn't.  A lot seems to depend on who you go with.

I never thought it sounded up my alley, so haven't gone.

I booked a cabin - I guess we'll see how it goes. I showed Wolverine the digging and the water park and the stuff to do at the cabins, and she was excited, so hopefully it will be a good time.
