My H and I had a nice Christmas, though we didn't do much. We don't usually exchange gifts, but he surprised me with a terra cotta pig (in a greenish color) that has desert plants in it. I have a similar one I really like. It's a new adornment for our porch.
I went out for after Christmas sales and found some fleece-lined leggings with Christmas sloths on them. They are so cute and funny, I love them! They came in a pack that also had plain black ones, but it was still 50% off and only $5. Mimosas are my favorite cocktail that I often enjoy on weekends. I found a stuffed chew toy for dogs that is a champagne bottle. Izzy loved it and I joked to my H that I've now turned her into a lush.
My first draw money to reimburse me for some of the construction costs (so far) hit my account. Woo hoo! I used some of it to pay down my HELOC on Sat. and will be paying down some credit cards today with the rest of it. On the bright side, I was surprised how fast I received it. They sent me an e-mail on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24th) with a breakdown of the payment. And then it was in my account on the 26th! However, they sent me the wrong amount (sigh), ie it should have been more. Plus they charged me a $475 fee (eye roll) that they weren't supposed to. I actually replied back to them on Christmas Eve about both of those issues, but haven't heard back from them yet.
Now that I have my first draw money, I'm also going to tackle some larger expenses I was putting off. Namely, getting the clutch replaced on my MINI so I can get back up and running with it. And booking my flight to Barcelona (yay!).
Overall, it was a nice 5 days off! And I'm doing it again this week, lol. Working Mon.-Tues. and then taking the rest of the week off. What a nice treat for a Monday that there are Prudies for me to read, lol.
