Wedding Woes

Thursday aka Friday Eve

K is coming hooooooooooommmmmmmmeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!  And tomorrow is Friday!!!!!!!!!!

I have too much work right now and I'm 10000% unmotivated to do it.

Re: Thursday aka Friday Eve

  • I'm looking for a needle in a haystack, usually my specialty, but today all my usual places have me striking out!  I have a feeling that it was something that we updated, but never officially filed - whoops!

Today H and DD will come to my office after work and from here we will go to a local place for dinner.  There is a big Dine & Donate thing going on tonight for deli owner who was murdered over a tip jar 2 weeks ago.  All the proceeds go towards his family, so we are picking one of the restaurants participating tonight.

We never did get that Christmas tree down yesterday, so maybe this weekend since we will be getting a little bit of snow and won't want to be outside!
  • I am not feeling motivated to go into work at all right now. I am so tired this morning for some reason. I’m trying to finish my first cup of tea before I head in.

  • Exam day. Anxiety is not my friend but I had a muffin, so that has helped my stomach a bit. I do have a stress headache, and obv nothing I can take on me :(

    BabyKitten has randomly learned new things. Random list of what my child knows and can say {she'll be 20m in like a week, 2yrs old in May}
Belly, nose, ears, mouth, toes {toe-toes}, Bear {also can find}, Brown bear, yellow {says as "yehyo" or as name}, purple, purple cat, cat, cracker, more, kitty, no, yes, get down, here you go, up.

I'm sure I'm missing stuff, but a few things have come up in the past ... week? Like the 2/3 word sentences and 'yellow'

Guys .... wtf? I like to keep eye on her words because by 2 they're expecting 50 but idk what a dr considers words lmao
  • @mrsconn23 it might still be worth going to get checked out. Last year when I was like that I finally went in only to be told I had a terrible bilateral ear infection, which was why I kept getting a little better and then worse. So if you can’t seem to shake it and it’s been a few weeks it’s worth going to get seen just to make sure.

  • I’m also unmotivated today. It’s cold and we’re supposed to get a ton of snow so I’d much prefer to be home and snuggled than at the office. At least it’s a long weekend!! All I plan to do is sleep.
  • Hope she enjoyed her time @VarunaTT

also unmotivated.  Last night, after my nail appt I drove home and found out that my brakes weren’t working.  I was able to brake if I gave myself enough time but SO scary.  I made it home on time and also to the shop this a.m.  there was a break in the calipur and my car wont be ready till 4 but at least it’s only one day.  I felt like Sandra Bullock in Speed.

but on the upside - I think I found a new nail tech!  Thanks groupon (which is what groupon is for!  Introductions)

    I'm glad you're okay!  That's frightening!
  • Charmed - Holy cow!  I wouldn't have driven that to the shop!  But I also have AAA and free towing!  Glad you made it ok and no one stopped short in front of you!

Varuna - Glad to hear K will be home!  Hawaii's time change is no joke and the jet lag from there is the worst!  Best thing to do is make sure K sticks to their usual time schedule and try to skip napping or going to bed too early - it will only make it worse!  Just stick to their normal time schedule, even on days off, for a week and all should be good!

MrsConn - So awesome that you mom can go on that little trip!  I'm sure the trip and that hamburger will do wonders for her right now!
  • Exam done.
40mins including reviewing it and going through the flagged questions to read again.

Anxiety dropping but could not eat much. Did have some crackers and I've got granola at my desk I'll probably also munch on.

    SITB

I know, I was debating if I should have it towed, this place is literally down the street from me, and only 2 residential stops.  I did test it to see if I still had stopping power and I did.  Just had to go slow.

  • Glad you made it home safely @CharmedPam!
Happy Friday Eve everyone -  so glad it's one more day til a long weekend
  • I have book club tonight so finished making a salad. H and I have been taking stuff off walls and moving furniture to get ready for painters who are starting on Monday. I've really got the redecorating bug. I want to have some furniture recovered and buy some new chairs for the living room. I love doing this kind of stuff but it is soooooo expensive. I'm waiting on some recommendations for reupholsterers.

@CharmedPam that is scary! Glad you made it to the shop safely.
  • So busy today ... glad I could take some time and read through Prudie!  I'm getting a used Instapot tonight, so might start looking up some recipes.  And also need to find a place in my kitchen to put it.  Someday when I renovate I will have cupboards that fit modern appliances.  My cupboards are the original from the 60s and are weirdly shallow.  I have no place for a bunch of my stuff because it just won't fit in the shelves.

We have the same problem. Our cabinets are 60-70s and nothing fits in them. I can wedge my crockpot into one of the lower cabinets, but my instant pot lives on top of my fridge and I can't stand it. It would be so nice to be able to store everything away and have a much less cluttered look.

That's where my crockpot is!  We had to put a hutch in our kitchen to store some of the bigger items, but it makes the kitchen so cramped.
