Terrible Tuesday

Is this the day that most of you hate?  If so, the title's for you ^
Not such a bad day in my week.  A bit busier than usual because of a lot of end-of-the-year wrapping up to do.  On a break I have to re-pot some flowers I put in one of my hanging pots, they'd be better in the flower bed in the front.  Making H and the kids beef chimichangas for dinner...trying to have a clean eating week so just pulling out every recipe they'll all like but that simultaneously won't tempt me.

Tuesday is always Second Monday! 

I got the house appraisal back last night. The house has increased 130k in value since we married and did the renovations. So yeah, that's going to work in my favor. I'm currently working on a list on the items I'll be taking with me when I leave the house. 

My brother opened his pool this weekend, so I'll be heading there after work. It's going to be 90 today.

@climbingwife that’s amazing!  I’m trying to get someone in to appraise my own house but apparently it’s a struggle to email me.  They did a drive by and it came back $12k less than what I paid for it so I don’t buy it at all. Even the girl at the bank was like “that’s not what we’re seeing here”. Exactly.  It’s not. 

My bodyboss home gym comes today.  I purchased it from rakuten shopping on Thursday so I find that delivery incredibly fast.   I promise I’ll use it everyday.  That’s what I told myself when I bought it.  I’m in a fitness group and they’re raving about it.  I can plant it in front of the TV and sculpt this thing in no time. Right? Right.

We have a call with the nurse practitioner {one I like} at noon for a referral to allergist. When I called yesterday, I said either n.p or her actual doctor. They were really good and said given what happened, they wanted to set the referral sooner.
So M is home until the call at noon

I also got the list of ingredients from the restaurant. I spoke with the owner so he gave me his name and if anyone needed something, to call and ask for him.

On top of all this, BabyKitten might be potty training soon.

Send wine, this is not an easy week.

We have a meeting with scouting leadership tonight.  I'm so excited.  We haven't seen them since February.  

Other than that, SSDD. It's supposed to turn nasty later today with the arrival of the remnants of Cristobal.

I'm not a big fan of Tuesdays. It's not that there's anything bad that happens on Tuesday itself, but Monday has this fresh start feel, and by Weds/Thurs, we're downhill to the next weekend. It's just a stupid day.

I went back to the gym again this morning. I'm feeling like if I can keep at it 3-4 mornings/week for about a month, I can get back into it being the rhythm. I feel great, but damn I'm tired already. 

Otherwise, pretty much SSDD. I'm going to have a socially distant lunch with a friend at the park. I think her marriage is on the rocks, but I really just want to see her.

Tuesday is not my favorite day for no good reason besides it feels quite far away from Friday. I’m exhausted today, and work is busy this week. I’m just ready to be on vacation and then leave. I live my job but I’m getting tired of WFH and feeling uncomfortable and exhausted on video calls.

Yep, Tuesday sucks b/c Monday at least is beginning of week, Wednesday is hump day, Thursday is Friday eve and Friday is Friday.  Tuesday is just sitting here, motionless and horrible.  I never want to do anything on Tuesday.

We have training today for the new program.  I am in a hot mess of a mood with no signs of it getting better.  K has their doctor appointment today to discuss their meds and possibly have a change.  They also have paperwork/tests today for the new job, so fingers crossed for that.  Otherwise, SSDD.

Yup.  I am in the process of a refi/home equity line.  But I called the bank and told them I wanted to dispute a drive by appraisal and they agreed (same bank different branch).  But because I didn’t recognize the number of the appraiser, I didn't pick up. I don’t pick up numbers I don’t recognize.  So they’re being all stubborn now to get back at me.  

@MissKittyDanger that sounds like such a cooperative restaurant to do that for you!  Good Luck! Hope you can pinpoint whats going on to prevent that from the future.

SSDD here.  We are supposed to get heavy rain here tonight - 2"-3" per hour.  We have no plans but staying indoors so we should be fine.

Chiquito woke me up at 5:30 for a bathroom emergency that required an early morning shower.   Luckily one of us got more sleep.

I'm chipping away at my work list and found a Hawaiian shirt with Baby Yoda on it for DH.   I hope it's coming in time for Father's Day. 

My brother's been awesome and I think he will giggle if I send him this.

Thanks for asking!

Work has calmed a bit which makes me feel a little less overwhelmed.  We're still contending with a long lead time but are being as transparent as possible with clients so while they don't like it they're seeing that we're working to get out of it.

Home life will be tricky.  I'm going to see my dad Sunday.  I think dealing with him and my mom and that's going to be ongoing.    My mom is going to take control over things and won't know when to let go.   

But it's a start - and we're looking to get a tutor for Chiquito who is having trouble learning and is testing some limits.  He's a good boy but he needs more help and unfortunately his dad and I can't give him the lessons he needs while we're working too.

Back at work today. Work was pretty good yesterday until the end of the day when staff started bitching at me about the schedule. I know we’re short staffed. I know it’s not fair. But I can’t change it. And when I give you solutions on how to make do with the best that we can, don’t fight me and give me attitude. If it was up to me I wouldn’t have done lay-offs and I would even be hiring 2-3 more people. But it’s not up to me. So knock it off and listen to the solutions I am able to give. Ugh. 

Otherwise last night was okay. I did a 45 min elliptical workout then an hour walk. I had some trouble sleeping just because there was so much on my mind. I’m hoping today goes by quickly. Dumb Tuesdays. At least on Wednesdays you can think “well tomorrow is Friday Eve, so that’s something.” I’m planning on a long workout tonight so that’s probably where most of my evening will go.

It is supposed to be insanely hot here today and tomorrow, and then we are supposed to get slammed with rain starting tonight.  But, they keep predicting a bunch of rain and then we don't get anywhere near as much as they say, so we will see.

Tuesdays are my Wednesdays so they're not that bad. (Our work week is Sunday- Thursday)

Nothing much happening here except my bad mood. Idk what I need... A break? Like a weekend alone? That would be fabulous. And God what I wouldn't give for some weed. 
 
I feel bad complaining given what is going on in the states... But it is what it is.

@CharmedPam, I have never heard of a drive-by appraisal.  Not in my own real estate dealings.  Nor on the real estate investing forum I frequent.  I also wouldn't think that most lenders would accept one.  I hope you enjoy the bodyboss home gym.  I believe in you!  You are really dedicated to working out.

I have slightly different Tues. feelings than the rest of you, lol.  I like Tuesdays a lot better than Mondays and dislike them about the same as Wed.

I'm getting a little worried about my job.  Maybe not in the immediate short-term, but I'm watching as current projects with the client I work for are heading to the finish line and there isn't much replacing them.  I'm too nervous and lazy to look for another job, because I'm comfortable here.  But it's just all the more reason I need to keep pushing at getting my ducks in a row with finishing the rehabs for the duplexes (one of them is totally done, we have about 40% left on the other), renting those units, and refinancing.  Please, please, please job.  Last at least longer than all of that, so I can walk into potential unemployment with a lot less stress and concern for the future.

Since sesame and chickpeas are mostly likely, we're avoiding those. Also eggplant on sheer fact we're unsure if she's had it before.

So yep. Bland foods until we know.

He offered it before the appraisal and I was LOL NO. I knew that was a very low number, but he thinks he's smarter than everyone.

Interesting, when we bought the house I’m 80% sure the appraisal was just a drive by to ensure it was at least for the value of the loan. I don’t think they ever went in.

@MissKittyDanger Are chickpea allergies common?  I don't know if I've heard of anyone who had an allergy to that.  Food allergies are so complicated too, because you wonder then if it is just chickpeas or if other foods that are similar have to be avoided as well.

We had to do a formal appraisal when we bought our new house, but we had a drive by when we did a HELOC a few years ago. On that one, the bank told me that we just had to appraise for at least X, which was something like 30k below the value. Since it was a townhome, bank said they could do most of the appraisal from comps, but would need a drive-by to validate that there was no screaming problem that would make it worth substantially less than the rest of the neighborhood. 

Maybe it's something like that since it's a re-fi?

Ugh. It is a terrible Tuesday. I called Yosemite to add on two people to our tent so we don’t run into occupancy/issues with getting into the park. The woman on the line told me that as of this morning word is that Housekeeping in Yosemite Valley will be closed for the entire year. Obviously that could change but there’s a good chance it won’t. 😭😭😭

He wants to keep the house. So he's got to buy me out. But because he's a narcissist, he wants to drag this out as long as possible. He thrives off of what he perceives to be my discomfort.

@kerbohl not really, but they fall under the legume family. It's more likely to be sesame or chickpea than eggplant, but at any point right now it could be anything.

Sounds like he's the one in discomfort, if he's mostly been avoiding staying at the house.

Do you think he's said something to his brother to encourage him to keep living there, because he knows it's annoying?  Or is the brother just that kind of man-boy, who won't stop mooching off other people until he's told to leave?

I realize we're in a pandemic and you all are in an especially hard hit area, so I can understand that having something to do with it.  But still.  I don't have the impression that the brother has even been looking/planning to move to a new place.
