Fri-Yay!

edited October 2020 in Wedding Woes
Happy Friday y’all! I went out last night and had a real drink with my friend and had a conversation for almost 3 hours without someone needing me!

H has a call with a hiring manager this morning so all the good vibes please!

ETA: Schitt’s Creek is the best thing I’ve watched in a long time. The bebe has been asleep for more than an hour and I’ve watched like 3 episodes this morning!

Re: Fri-Yay!

  • Good luck to your H, @charlotte989875!

    Happy Friday everyone!  Any weekend plans?  I'm cleaning up my yard then going for a hike with my mom.  It's supposed to be good weather up here.

  • @charlotte989875 If you haven't gotten there yet, I totally read "bebe" as Moira
    Fucking LOVE Schitt's Creek and the fact it's apparently suppose to be a Canadian town makes me ecstatic lol

    SO! Our premier is to make an announcement today. 900 cases to roll in today so we're having a serious dial back for our city {1 of 3 hard hit cities in the province}

    Looks like my grocery order actually picked up everything - which is a fucking MIRACLE. I did a different store so maybe that's key and our typical store is just stupid.

    BabyKitten had apparently scratched a spot of eczema hard enough to cause a mark but not bleed - it's weird. It looks like she didn't cut the skin hard enough.
    Luckily she's over 2 and can have polysporin because that helped a bit of it last night.
  • Yay! @charlotte989875 that's awesome! Getting out with a friend takes on a whole new meaning after kids. FX for your H!

    I am going to have to get someone to bootleg me schitts creek after all this talk about it. I just can't stand it anymore.

    No big plans for the weekend. My lesson that I rescheduled for Saturday essentially got cancelled. It's fine honestly, I needed a break more than I needed to stay on schedule. Today, we played outside and chilled all morning. After DS's nap, we all went to the always empty (even pre covid) mall to get party supplies and groceries. It was DS's first time in public in a long. He did great, I was worried he would be nervous. Tomorrow, more nothing. Just sewing for me, playing for DH and DS.

    P.s thanks for everyone answering my poll yesterday. I will definitely go with pre-made. It's what I wanted to do anyway.

    I adore Schitt's Creek!  It's soothing TV to me.  Friends, the Good Place, and Schitt's Creek are my go-to comfort TV shows.

    Oh and crossing my fingers for the Mr. @charlotte989875!!!

    @charlotte989875, I'm glad you finally had some "out in public" and hanging out with a friend "me" time.  Sending all the luck and good vibes to your H!

    @MissKittyDanger, I'm sorry cases have been spiking in your area.  NOLA has been fine, so far (at least in regards to no spikes).  But it seems like there has been a LOT of spikes happening all over the US and around the world.

    I have a crush on your all's PM, lol.  Every time I see his picture I'm like, "Powerful AND easy on the eyes.  Yeeeahhh!"

    It's a really busy day at work.  I was not as productive yesterday as I had hoped for.  But I've been chugging along pretty good today.  It won't be enough, lol.  I don't know what the client did but, last week, they changed a report I download from their site.  I upload said report to my DB and then run my weekly reports from there.  But there was whole bunch of data missing.  I can hard enter the missing data so it stays permanently in my DB.  And I have been doing a lot of that this week.  But it is SO much extra work and I am not even close to done.  But I figured out a shortcut to get my main weekly report out the door with the main info people want and the data that is still missing probably not noticeable.

    I am not overly stressing myself today and staying late.  I am tired, woke up with a headache, and just want to go home.  I purposely don't have any plans until Sunday, because I wasn't sure what was going to happen with Hurricane Delta.  As it stands now, it will be heavy thunderstorms starting this evening and going through Sat. morning.  Street flooding is possible during these times, but probably not around my block/house.  So lots of relaxation and catching up on sleep at home.

    Then Sunday, we have a brunch reservation at a fancy 4-star restaurant in the French Quarter (FQ).  It's one of the best restaurants I have ever been to (Bayona).  For any of you hard-core foodies out there, it is a Susan Spicer restaurant.  The food is amazing and so is the ambience, the epitome of historical and charming.  There's outside seating in a classic FQ courtyard and the interior dining room is in a Creole cottage-style building that dates back to the 1800s.  We don't usually eat there because of the cost.  But...restaurant week!  And they are participating.  Three courses for $45/person and it also includes a signature cocktail.  I'm a big fan when restaurants include free/low cost drinks with their prix-fixe specials, lol.

    Edited to add:  I'm not usually a dessert person, but they have a Polenta Pound Cake with Apricot Preserves and Salted Culture Butter that sounds intriguing.  I like polenta, but have only had it as a savory dish.

  • We made it, ya'll! Pretty chill weekend here. I'd like to get some yard work done, but we're supposed to get a lot of rain from Delta starting tomorrow, so that probably won't work. I've got some over-ripe bananas, so will probably bake a banana bread. I'm hoping to do a little shopping tomorrow, too. The dining room chandelier is an eyesore and I'm tired of it. Thanksgiving is 7 weeks from yesterday, so it's time to get it done. I need to get organized for T-giving anyway. Nothing particularly fun planned, but we'll probably come up with something.
  • S+S - How is H?  Did he ever get a COVID test?

    Not much going on this weekend.  It is my parent's 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday!  My sister and I were going to take them out to dinner on Sunday, but my sister was exposed to COVID at work, so we postponed until Nov.  My sister is a week out from the last known exposure to this person and is getting tested.  She does feel fine though.  This co-worker has family in FL and she and them have been going back and forth for the last few months...

    Not sure what else is going on this weekend, Eagles on Sunday.
  • @short+sassy  2nd to asking about your H and covid test
    Ours are because there was a backlog and urggg ..... people don't take it seriously
  • Oh @levioosa I am so sorry.
  • oh my gosh @levioosa I'm so sorry.  Sending you and your fam all the good thoughts and vibes.
  • I'm so sorry @levioosa
  • @levioosa, I'm so sorry to hear that!  I can't imagine how terrifying that was for your whole family and especially your brother.  I hope he has a swift recovery.  Ts and Ps for you all.

    @OliveOilsMom and @MissKittyDanger, we're both going today to get one.  Though I need to check if the place is open.  When I looked it up a couple days ago, some of them (though not this one) had already planned closures for today because of the storm uncertainty there was at that time.  Fortunately, he is feeling a lot better now.  We both seriously doubt it was COVID.  The only "symptoms" he had was feeling especially tired for a few days, along with feeling extra crappy and a bit of upset stomach for two of those days.

    @charlotte989875, good vibes for your H.
    @Casadena, good luck!
    @short+sassy , I hope your H is better soon.
    @levioosa, I am so sorry. Healing vibes for your brother. I hope the perpetrator is caught and severely punished.

    No Fri-yay for me. I have to work through this weekend and right through to the 15th. And I haven't heard of any days off to recover from tax season.

    I just feel sooooooooooooooo tired by not just tax season but all the things that don't go away even in tax season, like paying bills, grocery shopping, cleaning my place, laundry, etc.

    My dad just sent me and several other people an email he thought was "funny" about voting by mail and how he didn't vote for Trump. Unfortunately, some of the people he sent that email to are just shy of alt-right, and one of them sent back a very snarky response. My dad likes to make provocative posts on Facebook that unfortunately yield really nasty responses from people whose opinions are the opposite of his, and they get very heated. I've suggested to my dad that he turn down the heat in his own posts because he contributes to the problem, and he agreed that he can get pushy. I had to do that again this morning.
  • @levioosa hugs to you! and i hope your brother heals quickly and your parents can process what they had to hear/experience from it. That had to be hard on them too

    How frustrating @Jen4948 but I'm glad your dad is open to suggestion about toning it down on his end to then hopefully not have those types of replies on the other side.
  • Hugs @levioosa. I'm so sorry.

  • @levioosa I'm so sorry. Wine and virtual hugs heading your way.
  • Levioosa - I'm so sorry that happened!  I hope your brother recovers quickly and the person who did this is quickly caught and jailed.

    Casenda - Fingers crossed and new job vibes for you!

    ILBM - Doesn't that sound like voter fraud???  The stuff that tRump is always ranting against...

    Entirely how I meant it to be read!

    Of course it’s set in Canada, the creators & most of the actors are all Canadian!

    Lol they're so elusive so when M & I started watching it we kept saying "oh ... this has to be a Canadian town"
    We think Manitoba or Saskatchewan. Maybe northern Ontario
