Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions

outside wedding and inexpensive reception

This is the second wedding for both me and my fiance. I want it to still be special because we are special.  He wanted to marry on the beach with no venue and I told him that only works in the movies.  I would like to marry outdoors myself but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for the whold thing.  Need ideas for inexpensive way to do this for about 30 people.

Re: outside wedding and inexpensive reception

  • Check out local parks and forest preserves. Many have pavilions that you can rent for less than $200. You can get married outside, but you'll also have a pavilion there in case it rains.
  • You'll have much better luck posting on your local board - people there know your area and can make suggestions.
  • My fiance and I are planning an outdoor ceremony and reception also. We are renting a pavillion at a State Park for only $25! There is not only shelter (a beautiful old stone shetler with fireplace), but also restrooms (not outhouses). There is plenty of room for everyone, and we plan on bringing outdoor games for the kids. We want a relaxed atmosphere and most of all fun for all!
