Holy Rosary Catholic Church

Any brides have any helpful info on this church? I have booked my date for next October. Are they strict on photography time? How is the Bride's room? Where do the groomsmen hang out before the ceremony? Is there enough parking for guests? Can you line the aisles with decorations? The pews?Thank you in advance!!!

    7.   Flowers are not allowed on the altar, but may be placed at the base or on pedestals that are provided and also elsewhere in the sanctuary.  All candles must be drip-proof; all surfaces and floors must be adequately protected. Florist set-up and take down time must fit within the time limits listed in #6 above.       8.   No alcohol, rice, birdseed, confetti, flower petals, bubbles, an aisle runner or any such item may be used anywhere on the grounds of Holy Rosary Catholic Church or in the church.   9.   Photographers and camera operators are to be reminded that Holy Rosary Church is a sacred space. They are not to get in the way of the officiant or the wedding party. Blinding lights are to be avoided. Any commotion or noise is to be avoided. Picture taking after the wedding is limited to formal poses. Adherence to the time schedule for use of the church must be observed.   10. Brides are reminded that a Catholic wedding is a sacred service, taking place within a holy place of worship where the Blessed Sacrament is always present. The virtue of Christian modesty is to be observed in the design of the dresses. Our priests reserve the right to refuse to officiate at a wedding where the bridal party is not properly attired.   11. The wedding couple is free to arrange for their own musicians. Our parish organists are ordinarily available as well and they can recommend soloists.                               Carolyn Mattax – 713-468-4010    Scott Holshouser – 713-466-1373 or pager 713-872-5100   12. If you wish security during the wedding, the security agency used by the parish is Kim Private Eye, 713-723-8916. You may contact them or another agency of your choice.   13. Save this information sheet. Pass info on to your families and your vendors to make all aware of your responsibility. You will be expected to follow these guidelines. If additional information is needed, please call Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 713-529-4854 ext. 110, Cissy Duane, wedding coordinator. My email:  cduane@holyrosary parish.org   14.  Vendors should be encouraged to call for an appointment to become fully aware of specific guidelines related to their service. Couples remain responsible for activity exercised by vendors or the wedding party at the Parish.

I've done a number of weddings there and while they are strict, you CAN put flowers at the altar and down the aisle as well.  Sissy is a PITA, but most church coordinators are.Photography is restricted to the balcony, the end of the aisle and to the sides.  I've worked w/numerous photographers in the church and they have all managed to get beautiful shots there.  No flash is allowed.  Same goes for videography.Bride's room is very nice and spacious.  The groom has his own room as well, and usually, w/your photographer, you can have some awesome pre-pics taken in their gorgeous courtyard.Parking is great, right across from the church on on side streets...plenty of parking.  Let me know if you have any more questions!  :)

Thank you sooo much for this great information! I have noticed in some pictures of the church previous brides have lined the aisle with lanterns that have candles inside them. Are these property of the church? Also are they strict about formal pictures after the ceremony?Thank you again!

The church doesn't own any of the props, those are usually done through florists and event designers...so that will be something for you to discuss w/your florist.  The only thing the church will offer you are the altar candelabras.Usually you are allotted about 15-20 post formals.  I always recommend you have your photographer take as many pre-formals as possble so that you're not stuck doing so many post-formals.  :)

Are they strict about the brides shoulders being covered? We have our own Priest performing the wedding but in their packet it encourages brides to cover up. Does anyone know if it is okay to wear a strapless dress?
