Where did you spend the money?

So I'm married now and I realized there were things I'm glad I spent extra on and things I worried about going cheaper on that turned out just fine.  So here is the question - for the married ladies to answer or the soon to be married ladies to guess. What one item are you glad you spent extra money on?What one item are you glad you didn't spend extra money on?

I'm glad I splurged on my make up and hair artist!  My mom wanted to do it - sorry mom, but you and I know about the same amount of stuff when it comes to make up and hair - very little! She did a geat job, but it was more than I was planning to spend ... but SO worth it!  I'm glad I didn't cave into the pressure to get a BAND!  Our DJ did a wonderful job and we didn't have a ton of dancers - mostly the young people - so a band would have been a BIG waste of money since all the bands I talked to wanted at over 2 times what we paid our great DJ!

I am glad I spent the money on our photographer and my dressI am glad we didn't overspend on videography (my cousin taped our entire wedding and reception for free and even made us an edited DVD with the key moments and also gave us all of the raw footage).  Also glad we didn't overspend on the cake. I couldn't have cared less about it and it turned out awesome considering we spent about 315$

went above budget on the photog but am very glad about that.We went with a good priced videographer and I am happy with that choice. Also we originally wanted the $500 Rolls Royce limo but instead got the Stretch Navigator because it was much less and I am extremely happy we didn't spend that huge amount on the RR. We only used our limo for a transfer from reception to hotel and I could not see spending that for a 15 minute ride. The RR didn't allow just transfers, they had a time minimum.

Thanks so much for posting this guys. It makes me feel good about the ton of money we've invested in the photographer!
