need advice- kinda long

I am currently working part time at a law firm, I know my boss will hire me full time in May when i graduate, and pay me salary (im not sure how much) but no benefits. So im kind of browsing around for another job that will offer me salary & benefits. I found a job posting in Pearland for a full time legal assistant, they ask you to e-mail your resume & salary requirements.So...I have a few questions-1. FI and I found an apartment that is located pretty close to downtown, so would it be dumb to apply for a place in pearland if I know Im going to be living by downtown in March?2. What's the proper way to state your salary requirements? 3. Should I ask in the e-mail if benefits are offered?

It wouldn't be dumb to live near downtown and work in pearland.  You don't always live close to where you work.  It would be ideal to only have to drive 10 mins to work, but if its a good job, I would drive the distance.I'm not sure if its the proper way, but I would be short and to the point.  "My salary requirement is $X per year with benefits.

    1. I say go for it, you'll be leaving town during rush hour morning and going into town in the evening. 2. I googled an example for you ( would look up to see what the range is and use that as a guide): Per your request, an acceptable salary range for this job, based on the description and my research, is $45,000-$50,000, not including benefits or supplements. My requirement is flexible and negotiable, depending on such factors as additional benefits, faster salary reviews, and increased advancement opportunities. 3. yes i would request that info, don't most jobs offer unless they are contract positions?  I've never had that issue so I am not sure how to ask it.

I agree with what everyone else has said- the drive isn't that bad, and when you're a two career couple it's inevitable that someone has to commute! Good luck!
