Bakery Recommendations

Hi Houston Brides,
What bakeries are you going with for your wedding cake/s?  I'm looking for someone whose work looks good and the cakes taste good as well.  I would prefer someone inexpensive as well

TIA

We went with forheavenscake.org, you can look at the pictures online, I liked one I saw, emailed Rick forheavenscake@gmail.com with the cake name, event date and asked for a quote. He was the only vendor that didn't just give me price per slice, he gave me total price of cake/delivery, etc. We went for cake-tasting and ended up choosing them, chose 4 tier cake (bottom layer is a dummy one) total $525.

    Price will  depend on tiers/flavors/fillings

I am using Sweet Delights. Roslyn is super sweet and has lots of great ideas. Her cakes are super yummy.

You can tell her what your budget is and she can try to work with it. I had her do my mom's bday cake and it turned out awesome, I can't wait to see my wedding cake!

    I haven't chosen a bakery yet. I am considering:

Rustika Cafe (just google them, they have pics of their cakes)

Have you read Rustika Cafe & Bakery reviews?  I was interested in trying them after trying their cakes at BE... but after reading recent reviews we went elsewhere...

We are going to go with Sweet Delights. Rosyln has a great personality and her cakes are Amazzzzing! I just emailed her to make sure my date is available! We met her at the BE. then we happened to find her place when we were out and about one day and walked in.  She met with us without a problem, gave us cake and a full consultation! right on the spot! Shes great!

I am using Bobby with Cake Creations

My cake and the grooms cake is under 2000 with the rental stand!  I have a 5 tiered cake one of those being a "dummy" layer.  Fiance's is a 2 tier with chocolate covered strawberries.

She's an older lady and she is absolutely sweet!
