Need help with Earth Day ceremony

We are getting married on Earth Day (April 22nd), and we want to incorporate Earth Day into the ceremony somehow.
I'm thinking about doing something similar to the unity sand/ unity candle idea?

Our centerpieces/favors are potted plants (so that we didn't waste any cut flowers).

Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks :)

    Also, the ceremony is taking place inside a venue... so we can't really do the tree planting thing.

    You could plant a tree in a pot to later transplant into your yard.  I'm grasping at straws thinking of what else you could do... weddings in general are just so earth-unfriendly, sorry.
