Band Recommendations?

Do any of you have any bands you'd recommend? We're looking for a reasonably priced band that can play a wide variety (contemporary music is very important to FI, I'd love some classic rock, my dad would love some grateful dead, and some country would be fun too!). And not cheesy is a must :)Thanks!

Unfortunately, most bands aren't reasonably priced. And it is very hard to find a wide variety. I ran into that same problem. What you can do is find a band whose style you like, and make your own playlists for their breaks. We used Brass Attack and loved them. They were not, however, what I would call reasonably priced.

I'm sorry - I guess I wasn't very clear because, you're right, no band is really reasonably priced :) I've started getting quotes, and they've ranged from $3800 to $6700, which seems like a HUGE price range to me. I'd like to stay under $5000, if I can get what we want for that amount... I'd also love for the band to be able to provide a ceremony and cocktail hour musician. Thanks!

Check out Rare Form!  They can play anything and everything and are not cheesy at all.  The full 8 piece band is above your budget but the 6 piece band would be just under.  For our date, the 8 piece is $5750 and it wold be $4850 if you don't want the trumpet or sax.

Anyone know more about High Definition? They gave me a great quote, but I can't go hear them since they're based in upstate NY, and I'm in TX!Thanks!t

Then I think Brass Attack would fit in your range.

Did you find a band?  I have Cover to Cover and they are great.  The are extremely professional, very responsive and get everyone dancing!  Check them out, they are in RI.
