Engagement Photos

Does anyone have any recommendations on photographers for engagement photos? The FI and I want to have some nice ones done for the family in the winter...

i used Melissa Robotti for our epics..she was our wedding photog as well!we're on her blog...holly and bill under epicsI loved the ones on her blog but when I got them all (maybe 75 total) there were sooooo many i loved!

We're using Olivia Gird and have engagement shots included in our package. We're planning on having winter engagement pics taken in the next month or so.

David Bibeault! His two assistants Jamie Harrington & James Murphy are also amazing! I am having family portraits taken in a couple of weeks & we are using Jamie for them after seeing his amazing work from our wedding!

We're using Molly Bergeron (pp posted her Web site) because our photog's prices are a bit out of our budget. Molly quoted me a great price; we're doing them next summer. I've been following her blog and watching her grow as a photog.

Is it more cost effective to use the same person for your wedding then?

IT depends.  Some photogs build the session into the package so they get a chance to meet you and see what you're like to photograph.  They can also get feedback on the photos prior to The Big Day, when there are no redos.  IF you don't like how they do their black-and-whites or you don't want extreme closeups etc. it's easier to talk about it over epics rather then wedding pics when there's more emotion.  On the other hand, you could get a really good deal from a newer photographer who wants the experience.
