Invitation help!

Hello ladies,

We are in the process of trying to figure out invitations.  We are planning on ordering the invitations, envelopes, response sets, and thank you cards.  I found an invitation that I love.

My question is how did you do your inserts?  What inserts are necessary?  Did you include directions and room block information?

Thank you for  your help!

Megan

I was all about streamlining my invitations. Guests will receive an invitation and RSVP post card. All of the other information you mentioned - directions, room block information, maps - are all on our website. The link to our website was on the save the date they got awhile ago, and will also be at the bottom of the RSVP post card.

Some people put more information in their invitations... I just wanted to keep it simple and save the money for other things.

We sent Save The Dates with info on the two hotel room blocks and what airport to fly into.

Our invites had: invite, inner envelope, outer envelope, reply card, reply envelope, and a directions card (with a small map) on how to get to the church.

I also ordered matching TY cards and envelopes.

I put together a packet of info in the OOT bags.  Things to do in the area, restaurants, etc.  Also directions to the church from both hotels, from the church to the reception site, and from the reception site back to each hotel.  I also did directions from one hotel to the other, and vice versa, so guests could visit with each other.

In the programs, I also put directions from the church to the reception site.

No one got lost....but NO ONE said they appreciated having the directions, haha.  I didn't want anyone to get lost since there's been construction and even my GPS doesn't know where to go.

Thanks for the help!  I think that we are going to make a directions/accommodations invitation insert on cardstock double-sided to put in the invitations.  So our invites will have the invitation, inner envelope, response card and envelope, and the directions card.  The rest of the information will be on our website.

    Thanks again!

We put the website on the Save the Date and almost no one visited it. For our invites, we did RSVP, card with wedding day timeline on one side and weekend timeline on the other side, and another card with a map on one side (with hotel blocks shown, venue, RD site etc) and hotel block info on the other side. Even after sending all of this out, we got people ask about our hotel blocks etc. I do know for sure that very few people even looked at our website though and we included it both on the STD and invite. If you want to avoid getting harassed about anything, you might want to just add an insert.
