Instead of flower petals...?

Any unique (and inexpensive ideas) on something for the flower girl? I thought about silk petals, but they look too cheap/cheesy. Dried flowers? Confetti? Thoughts? The ceremony will be in a historic theatre, not a church...On the laid back side.

Re: Instead of flower petals...?

  • First Juliane I'd ask the venue if they have any rules about what you can do. Often, they forget to tell you this when you are booking. We are using an historic chapel, and we can't use an aisle runner OR anything on the aisle floor because of the liability, (slips, trips, falls) which they don't want to assume.

You can buy dried flowers and petals from many of the floral websites.

    Good luck.
  • My BIL used fake rose petals for their ceremony and honestly I don't think anyone noticed or cared that they weren't real. And I thought it looked fine.
  • My flower girl is carrying a bouquet.

  • The venue we're hoping to use has restrictions and won't let us use fake flower petals.  However, Lilac petals, "bio-rice" (I've never heard of this but will probably be looking into it) bubbles and a few other things were suggested....We'll just have to see...
  • We had our wedding in the fall and used preserved leaves instead of petals.
