Little girl jobs???

I have 3 little cousins ages 7-10, I feel they are too old to be flower girls and I would ask them to be jr bridesmaids but we have no younger boys to be jr groomsmen. I want to include them more than just handing out programs any ideas???
THANKS!

I think that making them Jr BM would be a great idea- they could have the same dresses as the other BM or the 3 of them could all pick out matching dresses- that would be really cute IMO. Or have you thought about candle lighters, if you're having a traditional church wedding.

I agree with everyone else...but one job I have seen little girls do at weddings is to say grace before dinner. It was really cute and you could have them all do it together. Even if you are not religious, you could have them say something nice. HTH

You don't need to have Jr. Groomsmen just because you have Jr. Bridesmaids.  If they are important to you, ask them.  People are more important that even numbers!

My flowergirl is 11. No big deal.

so maybe you don't asymmetry in your wedding?  I had this problem also, nothing wrong with a flower girl going down the aisle alone, but other options would include lighting the unity candle, reading a special bible passage/poem/ sing a song, guest book, guardian of the card box, saying a prayer, watching your train, they could all go down aisle together, they could be incharge of other kids at reception (ambassador of the soccer ball, etc.)  I am having an older girl (12) who I really wanted in the wedding, but did not want a junior bridesmaid, sing a song and light unity candle and be in charge of guest book.  There are a ton of options though to make someone feel like a part of your day

My family has a lot of girls, so we have always had a miniature bride.  She wears a very similar gown to you, made age appropriate of course, and walks down the isle right before you do.  You don't want 3 of them, but it could be something for one of them anyway.  You could also use the oldest of the group for candle lighters.

They're only too old to be a flower girl if they tell you that it's a baby job.  You could always ask them if they want to be a flower girl or bridesmaid and see what they say.

I find the mini-bride thing kind of creepy, though.  Makes me think of Dr. Evil.

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

Mimi-bride is just creepy, IMO.  The thought of a toddler dressed up like a bride on any day other than Halloween is just too much like that Toddlers and Tiaras show to me.  I think it's very uncomfortable.

What's really funny about this - my flower girl (who'll be 8 at the time) right now tells me she will, "but no pictures"... LOL<img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />
