Forgot to tip photog assistant

I've heard that you are suppose to tip the photographer's assistant (photog owns business), but I totally forgot to at my wedding.  I should be getting my proofs back soon - should I bring it up?

This is a great question...we had a 2nd photographer and definitely didn't tip. They photographers were both great and I kind of feel bad.

Honestly, aren't we paying them enough?  Don't get me wrong, I am a good tipper, but when I am paying someone thousands of dollars, I would hope they are paying their assistant well....  I had never heard about this before now.

lm - It's funny you put it this way because I was very, VERY fortunate as to have my parents pay for my entire wedding, so my mom handled the tipping as well.I told her who needed to be tipped (officiant, organist, etc.) and then who shouldn't be tipped (business owners), and then the people in which tipping is at ouor discretion. We didn't tip anyone other than the ones we felt were necessary to be tipped. I only feel bad because I was so happy with the photographer, but my mom said the exact same thing...we're paying everyone so much $$$$ ($5000 for the photographer alone) and even though my parents are great, generous tippers, she just thought it was ridiculous notion that people should be tipped on top of their already pricey packages.

Well at least now I don't feel as bad.  I also had never heard of this until people on theknot told me I'm suppose to tip the photog assistant.
