Ken Stillman?

Hi ladies!  I was married a year ago, and used Ken Stillman as my videographer.  He told me it could take up to a year to get my video, so I've been patient.  Now that my anniversary is 2 weeks away, I reached out to him to find out when to expect my video.  I wrote him last week, and still haven't received a response, so I'm getting worried.I'm reaching out to all of you to see if there has been any chatter on here over the past year about Ken and his services.  If anyone knows what's going on...I know you girls will.  Thanks girls!

Check his blog on the website.  I am using him for my wedding in March and he is sooooo backed up, I am getting nervous.  He keeps posting things on his blog about how he is trying to catch up.  I think he overbooked and can't handle all of the editing.  He is still "in business."  It is a matter of time, and you are not alone!  There have been many posts about how long it has taken to get the video.

Ok, thanks for your response.  I do check the blog randomly and see that he seems to be very frustrated with people because they aren't patient with him.  It's literally been a year though, and I haven't bugged him once until now.  So I would have expected a response by now.  I just don't want to wait another year! I'm even more worried because he used to post the video's on the Client section, and the last one on there is from June 2008!!

I was gonna say the same about checking his blog, he seems to be catching up now since this time of the year isn't as busy for him.  I know he posted something about getting alot of Friday and Sunday weddings (due to the economy) on top of his Saturday weddings. 1 yr is about average on what people I know have waited to get there video and they didn't use Ken. Yeah some get them faster but that's the time frame I was always told when looking for a videographer. I emailed him last week and heard back from him yesterday, he was at some convention for a few days and is catching up on emails.  I would try emailing him again. Good Luck, and the one thing I've been told by other Ken Stillman brides who have recieved their video after a long wait is that it was well worth the wait

I got married August 08 and should be getting my video soon so he's a bit behind. According to his blog, he was away last week so he may still be catching up. He's always been good at getting back to me.

I am in the same boat... We are now approaching 14 months of waiting, with false hope... I had a hard time getting him to discuss this.. He told me twice the video would be ready within a few weeks.. I don't like the fact he doesn't call you if there is a delay... I am getting very impatient now... If he is that booked up then he needs to stop accepting video contracts and take care of the customers who paid... I understand his work is good, that is why I booked him, but this is getting very upsetting... My husband is now getting involved...

I was married Oct 2008 and received my video mid-September.  He says that he completes the video in order of when they were filmed but after reading responses apparently that is untrue.  I was getting very aggrivated also - like Sissygrl.  I was told on numerous occasions that my video was being shipped out and then it never arrived.  After trying to get in contact with him multiple times he finally got back to me a few weeks later saying it had been mailed.I am very pleased with the final product but I will say the few months leading up to getting my video began to really get to me.  After sending countless emails and phone calls and never hearing back, I felt that was unprofessional.  I understand that everyone gets backed up, but like the previous poster said, we have all paid in full for our videos and should get what we paid for.

Hey I was married Aug 2008 and still have no video as well. I check the boards on here once in a while to see who else is in my boat. If some people from Oct 2008 got their video already I wonder why I am still waiting?? We told him to use any song he wanted for the music, so its not that he is waiting on us for anything. My husband and family members are so frustrated with him. We contacted him months ago and kind of got a rude email back about people bugging him, and how we have to wait for quality work. At the time we booked him he told us his usual turnaround time was 3-6 months. If i would have known it would be over a year I would have went somewhere else.

OctBride-It is supposed to be done in order but you must've been very convincing in order to jump the line. Please don't share your secrets with everyone who got married after us August brides. Amy-We're probably still waiting because we've been willing to wait our turn. Whenever there is a post on the topic, I try to remind people there's a line but that doesn't always work.

Irishgrl - actually I am not sure why I received my video before you August girls.  He conctacted me in April or May asking for my song choice, when I spoke to him with my choice he told me I should receive my video in June.  When It never came in June I contacted him in the end of July/beginning of Aug to give him an updated address since I had moved.  When he responded to my email he thanked me for the address update and said he was putting it in the mail and that I should receive it within about 2 business days.  After 2 weeks of not receiving it I did contact him again just to make sure it didnt get lost in the mail since it just comes thru the regular mail (no signature required) and he let me know that it never got mailed and he was sending it that week.Personally I do not think I contacted him too much (or had any little secrets) to getting my video.  I only contacted him when need be.  After not receiving my video when I was told it shouldve been there I think you too wouldve been nervous that it got lost and contacted him again also.

I'm in the same situation as you... emailed mutliple times asking for an estimate of how long.  Finally got an email back and still no time frame.  Loved working with him but am getting really mad.

My husband and I used Ken in June of 2008 and didn't receive our video until May 2009. He violated the contract by not sending us a video proof before finalizing the video and when we watched it, there was a major error (during one of the groomsmen's speeches the video jumps to another speech while the audio is of the first speech). He also took it upon himself to put a really sh-tty song as the menu song...also without consulting us on what song we wanted to use.Additionally, there were several of the DVD's that he sent us which had digital errors on them, making them impossible to watch (they would freeze up on every DVD player we tried them in). We sent him an itemized list of things we would like him to fix and he did nothing to act on our request.I have sent multiple emails to him in the past few weeks and received no response. My next plan is to send a consumer complaint to the PA Attorney General's Office. This guy took our money, breached the contract, and did not deliver. Sounds to me like he has done the same to many other people on here.

I wish I had better news. We had our wedding September 6, 2008.... we received a video that was missing essential elements (such as specifically requested singing in the church and our entire cake cutting) in Mid September. Since then we'vve sent many emails to Ken, and they go unanswered. He told us he'd make the requested additions although the cake cutting was unacceptable to be missing and the singign was requested by me when we had our consult 2 days before the wedding) and send it out to us the week of September 20h. It's now mid November and emails to him asking for status have gone unanswered. His lack of professionalism disgusts me. His service levels are aeful. He once told us he'd rather clients be mad about bad customer service then a bad video,... well after receiving our unfinished version... we are dissatisfied with both. Good luck to you. The only thing we can do is continue to let people know how awful his service is. Atleast he told you it could take upto a year... he told us we'd have it in about 7 months.... it's ridiculous.
