Save the Date sign

So my fiance is deployed and he's going to take a picture with the word date over there. I'm going to take a picture of save here at school. I'm not good with coming up with ideas. Does anyone have any creative ideas on how I can incorporate "save" in my picture? The background of my picture will hopefully be a lake from atop a hill. Thanks!

  • I think it would be cool if you photoshopped the word save over or in the middle of the pics

    I want the COOOOOKIE!

  • Or are you just looking for background info? thats just really whatever you want.  Is there a known landmark in your area? I would do it there

I have reading fail. Blame it on the benadryl I just took.

  • Do you mean you want the picture to represent the word save?  I think life jackets or life preservers or ambulances...etc.

Ok are you confused too? Or is my benadryl making me loopy. Is she holding the word save and he's holding the date? or is he going to hold the actual date and she's holding the word date. I'm so confused. <div>

  • GGirl, IDK why I can't quote but, yes, I am confused.

  • He is going to hold a sign that says date and I am going to hold a sign that says save. But I"m not sure how to create the sign. Like a chalkboard, stringed letters, or a cardboard sign. These are ideas I have found on Google, but I wanted to try and do something more creative. The lake view background is already decided and it is known at my school. I'm just not that creative. My roommate suggested covering a piece of cardboard with newspaper, since we have a very good school newspaper, and then cutting out letters for save. But I just wanted more createive ideas since I'm only at school for two more weeks.
  • Also before I was asking about a desgin layout. We decided to take the picture of each of us holding save and date in our separate places. "the" will be just a small photo and then when we are together we will take a picture of us with the date
  • Maybe a sign with the schools mascot and colors in the same font that the school uses for SAVE? I may be reaching here...

You should mow the word 'save' into the lawn on the hill by the lake, and lay in the grass or something.  That would be pretty sweet.

ETA:  I'm sure you've seen something like this is you've been on google, but I LOVE pictures like this.  Possible for the one with the two of you:

  • Am I the only one that thinks this is way too much for a save the date?  If he's going to be home before you send them out, why not just use one pic of the two of you?  If he's not, then just use one pic of you saying save the date and him with the date.  I think your idea is extremely cluttered and over complicated.  JMO, though.

<div>I agree with this, plus what if it doesn't turn out nicely? H was deployed at the time as well and we hadn't gotten around to taking our E-pics so I just used one of our older pictures for our STDs. </div>

No, you're not the only one.

In fact, I'd really just skip save the dates all together in this situation. I kind of regret having made some myself, as non complicated as they were. I have a huge stack left over building up dust.
  • We didn't do a Save the Date. We had a card that we sent to out of town guest that had hotel information on it but that was it.  We did not include pictures at all.  As a matter of fact we didn't even have E-pictures done.  Once again Slack Bride alert.

No e pics her either. We did save the dates but I didn't want a picture of us on them. So they were a magnet thingy with a beach background with a bouquet laying on the sand.

Glad to know I am not the only one.  HAA that is a really pretty sounding magnet though!
  • Now that I think about it, we didn't really do traditional save the dates. We used TK's email std's for our friends. My mom decided she wanted to send them out so she was on her own and used a picture from military ball for it.

<div>Ours was a magnet too! We collect magnets everywhere we go, so we HAD to have them(by we, I mainly mean me!) </div>
