I have some news There's a kid growing inside of me. :-) I'm 9 weeks, 4 days. I had my first ultra sound today and everything looked great- AFTER it didn't and I got sent to the hospital. So there will be an MB baby on or around October 7th.

P.S. facebook friend's, I'm not out of the closest yet so don't put anything on my wall :-) Well, my doctor has an ultra sound machine that came over on the mayflower. It was old, yellow, and looked like the oldest apple computer known to man. It measured the baby at only 7 weeks and could only find a tiny flicker of a heart beat. So they sent me to the hospital for a transvaginal emergency ultra sound. The lady there was amazing and everything was FiNe. She said that a lot of people from my doctors office has to go there because their machine sucks. However, the transvaginal was not fun. It was like a huge dildo cam. (TMI- deal with it). So it reaffirmed my belief that they should be used in emergency situations or my choice only. So anyway, their u/s machine before the vag cam measured me at 9 weeks 4 days and then so did the vag cam.

Thanks everyone. I was so psyched to tell you. Plus I'm over my morning sickness stage (which is a sham, it's all day sickness) so now I can really celebrate. And I did- by getting a shamrock shake on the way home.

YAY! I am so happy for you and I am so glad everything has gone smoothly! Funny story. I originally wanted to go to school to be an ultrasound tech so I shadowed one for my senior project. I remember the first time they pulled out the transvaginal transducer and my eyes were the size of lemons. I almost said "you're gonna do WHAT with that thing?" haha. Looking back now that was just one of the many crazy things I've seen.

I bet my eyes were the same! I was like excuse me? That is going inside??

I must say, it wasn't terrible and it didn't hurt however, I had an amazing and gentle tech. I just think it was laughable that the Virginia bill (which since has been changed) said all women who wanted abortions MUST have a transvag u/s to prove she is pregnant.

Well excuse me. The mayflower machine that is over 39 years old was able to tell me I was pregnant. As crappy the machine was, I still saw a baby on the screen.

Hike, the bill said they had to have an ultrasound - it was activists who pointed out that the transvaginal ultrasounds would have been required for very early pregnancies (like if someone JUST found out they were pregnant and wanted to terminate).  The argument is that no one should force someone else to undergo an unnecessary medical procedure by law, and that alone is incredibly offensive that a woman isn't capable of making a decision for herself without forcing her to see the ultrasound.  It's religious legislature, which is laughable because most of the same people push for 'small government' and I can't imagine a bigger government than one that sticks something up my hoo-ha.

You know what happens when you announce a pregnancy???


You get to go to Disney World!!!!!!!!

Care- the governor of Virginia, a one point, was trying to pass a law that made women have a transvag one. He then changed it to just any type of ultra sound that works (might be trans). Now hes on record saying that this bill allows women to "be offered" an ultra sound. Ha. That's not what the bill says. He's scared to even say what the bill actually says because so many people were against the first one.
