Nope... unless you just want him gone and don't want to be near him!  In which case, you still aren't a horrible person, just with the wrong person.  But if you just don't look at it as a big deal, then you're a strong person who understands why he's leaving.

I was just talking to my Step Mother today about FI deploying. My reply, I hope its around the time we get sick of living with each other. LoL. So I'm with you, but we have been apart for so long its going to be weird to have him there.

Nope you're not. Unless like calindi said you're just happy to get rid of him. Its not common, but some women are fine with it. It doesn't mean we love them any less or care any less, we just accept that its part of the job.

Ditto PPs. After going through how many deployments with H, it's just something we're used to now.

and the one after being married for so long. :) After a while I LOVED when DH would go, I could rearrange the house, declutter, get a puppy LOL,  help other wives who's H's were deployed @ the same time, all sorts of things that I knew he wouldn't be intersted in while he was "home"

Not at all. I am actually ready for my FI to deploy again because then we will get it over with, PCS, and he will be at a nondeployable station.
Deployment sucks, but we plan so many things to buy, things to make, things to do, that we become SO prepared we are just READY for it.
Don't feel badly, it's just one of the normal hundreds of feelings we feel about deployment.

I'm super psyched for FI. He's psyched, I'm psyched for him. I agree with PP who's jealous. He volunteered to go early because we decided I'm good to go, and other people have kids.

People think I'm strange, but whatevs.

I know that even people who aren't jealous because they want to deploy want it to get started because the countdown to leaving is even worse than the deployment. It has been for me in the past.

I wouldn't say you're a horrible person. When H was home for the wedding, It was like I didn't want him to go back, but I knew he had to and it made me sick to my stomach to think about us spending our first year of marriage apart and I wanted to just get it over with!! Plus, last year, we were apart more than we were together, so I was used to being alone, and while it's soo good to be with him, I knew the worst wasn't quite over and I wanted to get it started, so that it could be over sooner. If that makes sense.. I'm rambling.

PS... Stan, what book is that and where did you get it?!! H and I are planning to make him a Semper FI Man Cave, and that book would be a great coffee table addition!!

My FI has that same book - you can get it pretty cheap at Barnes & Nobles.

Sami, another good book rec for him is the NCO Handbook if he doesn't already have it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1591142407/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=1557502382&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1FCRA1XSAV81RE7DZSJB

I have the O version, by the same author, and I love it. Useful all the time.

For the last couple Christmases, I've asked for books of the Commandant's Reading List. It's my goal to have the whole thing!
