1. I'm in Iowa. There is NOTHING in Iowa.

2. I didn't get the job. After all the reference checks & background checks, they said they were looking for someone with more event planning experience who had a list of non-profit contacts in Maine. So, essentially, they strung me along for the last 2.5 weeks. They knew I wasn't in Maine & they knew my background - so WHY even bother??

3. I pretty much only have access on my phone right now, and it's a huge PITA to knot on here, but I will try not to P&R.

I once had a company get to my background check and calling references and not hire me...that is the worst because you know you were so close! I really feel for you, honey. Keep your head up and keep applying...something even better is out there!

Aw Bri...i'm sorry about the job. It's a bummer to hear excuses that don't really add up. At least you heard back from them and you can move on without feeling like you might miss out. I've had interviews where i've never gotten a response back - I don't know which is worse.

Keep your head up and trust that there is a better opportunity out there for you!

That sucks Bri... Another friend recently got down to the last two of a job before they told him they were looking for specific experience, which they could tell by his resume that he did not have. Why? Why I ask?!

Thanks, Ladies. I'm pretty bummed right now, but I'll just hit the job boards again when I get home, and try again. BF was great about it, which was nice, and I didn't tell my family anyway, so they don't even know to be disappointed. The closest I get to the city is Long Island. We have played at some other schools in the past, but not this season. Stony Brook is in our conference, so I'll be out there later in the season (although, I hope something else works out so I won't have to!!) On to the next!!
