So, for one of my classes we have to give an informative speech. I was going back and forth on what to speak about. Originally I was going to talk about how to invest smartly on a college students income.

Useful? Yes. Boring? Most certainly.

So, today I decided to change my topic.... to "life lessons learned from Harry Potter". This is partial inspiration from the tattoo thread (got my mind rolling of HP quotes) and just wanting to do something more interesting than investing.

I was a HP character for Halloween, so I might put on my cape, glasses, and wand and use those as props. I'm also thinking of introducing the topic with a HP theme song? That would be a good opening slide. Maybe I should tape it for you guys so you can watch it afterwards lol

Anyways, thought I would let you all know!

    Oh, and you can still include investing as a student as one of your lessons.  Harry gives his Triwizard earnings to Fred and George and later gets tons of free stuff at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes!

    love it! I want to use HP in my rhetoric class but I'm not sure it will really fit any of our projects. You should post your outline of your speech when you are done!

    That's an awesome idea! I have written a couple of final papers about Harry Potter and they always went over well.

    I believe Stephen King said it best: "Harry Potter is about confronting fears, finding inner strength and doing what is right in the face of adversity." Those are some great life lessons =)
