Bachelor: After the Final Rose (Spoiler Alert)

I was rooting for Emily all along, and I was so glad he picked her...though I really don't think he could have gone wrong either way. I know a lot of people were probably upset to hear Emily sound so wishy-washy in the "After the Final Rose" part. Honestly I though it was nice to hear the truth about what it is like coming back to the real world. I think she's smart to wait to marry until they get to know each other better and work out some of their issues. After all, they've only known each other a few months and she does have a daughter to think about.

What did you all think? Were you happy with Brad's choice? Do you think he picked the wrong girl? Do you hate Emily now?

Just curious to see what everyone thinks this morning. Hope it's OK to start a new thread for this...but it sounded like some of the other girls in the last thread didn't want spoilers in there...

I was happy with his decision, but actually very surprised.  All of the spoilers said that he picked Chantal, so when she first stepped out of the limo, I was confused!  Since I knew how this was "supposed" to end, this was the first part of the episode that really intrigued me.

I think it was very clear all season that Brad was the most interested in Emily.  And she really is such a sweet lady.  I appreciated the fact that they were open about issues going on within their relationship.  It's real life!  Not to say that we all air out our relationship problems to everyone, but I think they showed that they are a real couple and deal with real issues.

Side note, loved loved loved Emily's new look.  Both hair color and hair style.  Looked much more natural.  Thought she looked beautiful!

I completely agree tmacwin! She looks gorgeous...and the new hair fits her personality more. BF never watches with me, but I asked him which of the two he would choose (based on looks) and he picked Chantal because "she doesn't look so fake". I think Emily's new look is much better for her down to earth and sweet personality.

I wasn't surprised that he picked Emily... I think long-term they are a better match, and I was glad to hear Chantal has already met someone new (though how tough an act is 'The Bachelor' to follow?).

My only issue was that Emily didn't seem so 'sweet' in the After the Rose segments. We didn't see a hint of it in the show, but apparently she has a temper. And, even though she talked about how ready she was to marry Brad, it really didn't sound like she was willing to move to Austin. If I were them, I'd make sure we were living in the same city because going from fairyland 'Bachelor' dates to LDR isn't much of 'reality' either. I'm sorry to say it but I don't think this one is going to last.

What do you think about Ashley being the new Bachelorette?

Did they announce that??? I guess I missed that (I was switching channels at the commercials). If she is - I'm excited for her. I think it was hard for her being one of many girls...but I think she'll do a lot better and stay bubbly and upbeat as the bachelorette. (Thought who wouldn't be happier in that position i guess...)

I thought Ashley H was gonna be the next bachelorette :)  I'm kinda excited though, because she really seems like a fun person.  Should be an interesting season.

I was super surprised Brad didn't break Emily's heart, honestly.  And I do think that life after the Bachelor probably sucks, but if Brad was physical with me...I'd kick him to the curb (although it kinda sounded like they were both physical with each other?)  That's lame.
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton

I would agree if things were physical...but I didn't get that impression from the show. I felt like they were just saying that they both have tempers and probably fight verbally with each other. Something to work on for sure, but I don't think they were talking abuse here...

I was super excited that he proposed to Emily. I cried during the proposal. I didn't even cry during my own proposal! I just thought Brad looked so sincere and in love.

Now, I felt horrible for Chantal. Especially when she asked when he knew that he wanted Emily, and his response was pretty early. I kept you around because you were fun. That broke my heart for her. She was really in love with him.

I hope they make it, but I wouldn't bet money on it. FI and I were completely hooked to the TV last night. We're going to miss our Monday night TV date via BBM or AIM. Even today as we were talking, FI was super excited that Ashley was the next Bachelorette. I think Ashley will talk with her hands too much and cry at every rose ceremony.

In the end, I just hope Little Ricky doesn't get hurt.

I was confused a little? Why was Chantal crying when she already has a new man? I'm sure it was hurtful to hear but if she has already moved on, why be emotiona stilll?
Brad's temper sounds like he could be another Jake.

I think Chantal still has feelings for him. I think the new guy is a rebound from Brad.
