I just wanted to post a few pictures from my trip for the other science people on the board. The first two were taken while we were hiking on an active volcano.
This lava flow is from 2006.
This is what it looks like when you are actually on the active craters. But we're on a smaller side cone. The main one is too dangerous (two people were killed the week before we got there). You can hear and feel rumbling beneath you. It was terrifying/awesome.
This is actually from my last trip. Right now you can't see any lava safely, but I thought some of you would like to see the old pictures anyway.
Here is a picture of a huge crater lake. It's surrounded by three or four volcanoes, but the weather was pretty bad so you can't tell. It's pretty either way.
And this is another active volcano that you can see from town (and from FI's mom's house). You can see smoke and ash coming out almost everyday.
Sorry if these are boring to some!
I didn't want to be a PW so I'll just add it here:
Mutley- Congratulations on your big news! I'm so happy to hear that he's a perfectly healthy little guy!
Jeana- Your bridal pictures were gorgeous!
