I'm a blubbering idiot

Right now I'm sitting here listening to "I Loved Her First" by Heartland. It's the song my dad and I will dance to and I cannot get through 30 seconds of it without crying. How the heck the two of us will get through it is a complete mystery. Tonight I'm going to make him a CD with that song on it 10 times so he can just listen to it over and over (I got my emotional side from him).

I think my dad and I will both be crying for ours. I'm going to use a song called "Angelo's" by D!ck Seigel (lol, the Knot wouldn't let me write his name). He's a local artist and it's a song about a breakfast place. lol. It seems weird but there's a story! It was the theme song for a local radio show on Sunday mornings and when I was a kid he would pick me up and dance with me to it on Sunday mornings. We have an old home video of it and everything. It's going to be a tearjerker.

OMG I started crying before the words even began.  I never heard it before, what a great song.

Well shoot, I didn't necessarily want a song that was so cliche, but it really does fit my dad and I. He wouldn't let me use 'Mandy' by Barry Manilow (The song they named me after) because he said he'd never get through it. I also love the song 'She thinks we're just fishing' by Trace Adkins, but it's just a little bit too fast to slow dance to.

My favorite parts of weddings are when someone gets teary eyed! I think it's amazing that the song means so much to you and you'll never forget the feeling in that moment That really is a great song!

That's the song my cousin and her dad danced to for their wedding and they both cried like babies, lol.

As for me, the first time I heard Tim McGraw's "My Little Girl", I knew that was the song I wanted for whenever I got married. We both love him and it makes me cry every time I listen to it, lol. He's also the more emotional one so I know he's going to be a mess too. I like the idea with listening to the song over and over again, lol.

What a great song for your dance with your dad! My dad is SO emotional and so am I. When I get married I don't even think I want to have a father/daughter dance because I would be such a wreck.

I love that song!   Though I am heartless so I don't cry to it, but I bet if I danced to it I would!

I think my dad and I are going to be dancing to Frank Sinatra because he used to play it for me at night to help me go to sleep :)  Good memories.

Edwin McCain has this great song called "Walk With You" that he wrote specifically at the request of a friend whose daughter was getting married. Aaagghhh I was a wreck when I heard that song.

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but I won't be having a father/daughter dance, so it's kind of fun to think about what song I would have chosen.....*le sigh*

I have a similar story to Snow's... There is a radio show here that played what a wonderful world every morning at the end of the show and my dad always played it as he drove us down the hill to day care. So that will be our song :)
