Not Engaged Yet

HIS friends making wedding jokes...

Now my bf and i have hinted that we want to marry each other, and I'm sure it will happen eventually but with the distance and time and money I know it won't happen for a while. But it's really sweet when his friends are all about it, too. You usually think your guy's friends are all anti-marriage, so I'm surprised his friends are all about him. His bestie here in Dubai (who has become one of my friends now) is constantly telling mehe loves us together and  I have to marry him and I'll break his heart if I leave him and he doesn't tell me to shut up when I talk to him about marriage stuff. (He's also demanded that he's the BM :P) And his friend in South Africa when I went to visit joked that he should be getting me an egagement ring for being so dedicated (he had a stint in the hospital and I was lucky enough to have a layover there and his parents took me to see him). And his friend is really sweet so he wasn't being an ass or anything.

Anyone else have his friends rooting for you?

Honestly no one rooted for us, they just KNEW we were going to get engaged one day.  Kind of like "finally you guys did it" when the news broke.  Hahaha....

This is what I feel is going to happen to us.  Two of BF's best friends texted him on New Years asking if he had proposed yet.  One of his friends from work refers to BF as my husband, as do all our neighbors.  I think I'm being more patient than our family and friends!

It was pretty much the same thing for us.  Everyone at school was like "Bout time!"

His best friend started making jokes a few months ago after he got back from a wedding.  Keeps telling FI I'm going to be a total Bridezilla.  I told them both if they say it again, they're both going to be forced to sit down and watch some real Bridezillas in action.

Ditto Peekaboo.  The overwhelming response we got when we announced our engagement was pretty much like "well... duh."  I know what you mean, though, Jinx.  It's good to know people are on your side.

DH's friends seem to like me a lot. He has two really super-close friends, and they're both pretty awesome.

One of those guys has an awesome girlfriend, and I'm certainly rooting for them! Hopefully I'm not too over the top about it, but yeah. They're pretty awesome together and I hope they get married!

Both our families have been rooting for us since we were little kids even tho we only started dating a year and a half ago.... When his sister found out that he asked me out the first thing she said was "YAY you'll be my sister in law..."  I should have run then... lol jk

His friends are definitely hoping we'll get engaged/married soon. They all say we'll be the first in the group (we respectfully disagree, and are rooting for another couple, but that's another story for another day). His friends are definitely my friends as well, and I really love them (most days heh).

A family friend of his said to me about a year ago, "I love ya, and I want you to marry [BF], but I don't want you to do it yet. Grow up, have fun, then get married". It meant a lot coming from this particular person, and she and her husband will be some of the first to know when the time comes for us to get married.

The wives of my BFs friends ask me every time we see them when we're getting engaged.

Today at the grocery store, BF put in his savings card, and when the cashier handed me the change, he said 'Have a nice night Mrs. L.' I liked the sound of it! :)
