QUADIES UNITE!

I'm officially back to being a QUADIE!!  After going around and around and knowing the whole time we just want to elope - we have decided that we are in fact going to get married the end of October, like we had originally planned.

We are going to JOP it and then go for a weekend getaway in Hot Springs.  I know to most people this seems crazy, but it's what we both really want and we're both totally excited about it.  All I care about is being FI's wife - I don't need all the bells and whistles of a wedding.

Sooooo, how are my quadies doing with everything?!

Yay! I'm glad you are getting to do what you want!

I'm doing well, the plans are coming along. I just found out today that my coworkers are throwing me a shower. I'm super embarrassed but I guess my school prides itself on the fact that they care about the students but also each other. I've been to two baby showers for coworkers since I started working there last year. It should be nice but the etiquette issue is kind of killing me since none of these people are invited to the wedding. I need an opinion on amount of gifts on the registry but I think I'll start a new thread for that.

KD, don't worry about the work shower.  Work showers are the exception to the "everyone invited to the shower must be invited to the wedding" rule.  You should be fine.

Jeter, that sounds like a lovely wedding weekend!

I also agree with Noelle regarding work showers. The last work wedding shower I went to, my contribution was the cake. Otherwise it would probably be a Target card or something small. Don't worry about it.

Plans are going well.  We just finalized our menu last week.  And all I can say is "Yum!"  I want to eat all of the food at my reception.  Thankfully we opted for family-style, so I can eat all of it

Yeah, it's going to get worse from here out, I know.

He is worried about the food, I guess that the professionals have no idea how much food they should bring? And he wants to change the menu that we're contracted into.

    Awesome.

Oh hetshup, I think it's time you make him a screen name and send him on TK.  Send him over to Etiquette... that'll show him, quick!

Jeter - I'm so glad that you guys are getting to do what you both want. The day is about you as a couple anyways, so it seems fitting!

KD - I maybe weird on this, but where I grew up it is completely normal for people who attend a shower to not be invited to the wedding. It is always viewed as showing support for the couple and no one expects to be invited to the wedding. So, there are showers from the church, the community, your work and your distant relatives who use it as a family reunion excuse,  ontop of all the normal ones. It wasn't until I came to TK that I realized no one else does it this way.

I'm late.  Jeter, congrats.  I'm so happy you sorted everything out.  I can't wait to see what you wear.

As for showers, work showers and church showers are the exception to the "everyone who is invited to pre-wedding parties must be invited the wedding" rule.  So don't feel bad kd.

    Thanks Ladies!

Oh dear... I hadn't heard the latest Dadzillaness Hetshup :(  Sheesh!

As far as work showers - don't feel bad that you didn't invite them to the wedding - I think that's a pretty normal thing.  Shouldn't be any hard feelings I wouldn't think.
