Before you are (30, 35, 40, etc)

CDe's post got me thinking, and there are many more than 3 things that I want to accomplish in my life. In fact, there are more than three that I want to do before I am 30, if possible (I just turned 26).

What relatively realistic things do you want to do before your next age landmark?

 - Take dance lessons with SO and learn the Tango.
 - Start my family - preferably be at least pregnant with my second.
 - Plant a really nice herb garden.
 - Learn how to use a sewing machine and make some of my own clothes.
 - Write the book that has been in my head since I was 18.
 - Learn some jewelry making from my aunt who does silver-smithing.
 - Cross 3 travel destination off my list.
 - Go skydiving.

Before I turn 30 (holy $hit, it is a little over a year from now):

    - I want to be at least planning our wedding, if not newly married
    - Finish my M.S.
    - Take piano lessons
    - Get back into archery
    - Have a 8-5 job, with weekends and holidays off
    - Keep my garden alive (eeeh! my first strawberry turned red today!)
    - Fit into a size 8

Thanks csousa for not just making this "before you are 30."

    Before I'm 35 I would like to:
    -Buy a house
    -Adopt a kitteh (or two)
-Travel to at least one country I haven't visited before
-Get promoted at work (that doesn't happen too often here)

I have just over 3.5 years to accomplish those things.

Before I turn 35 I would like to be married, hopefully get over to europe with the boyfriend. I've got less than 3.5 years so it's defintely possible. I' also hope to buy a house but it all depends I currently own a condo and I'd like to make sure the market is up enough again here to get a decent price for it compared to what I paid... blah, blah...  By 40 I'd hope to have a kid 1 may be 2.

I've tried not to keep life age goals because it can become disappointing when you reach the age and it hasn't happened.  I'd always hoped to be married before 30 and I'll be 32 in August, and I'm kind of glad it didn't happen I could imagine marrying any of my past bf's anyways and my boyfriend now is better than anyone I could have ever imagined!

    Before 25:

    1. Graduate with my BS (almost CHECK)
    2. Get my MS (this may be a pipe dream...but I'm going to try)
    3. Be planning a wedding or happily married - 2 years for MS, one year for wedding, I should be 24...

    By 35:
    1. Own a home
    2. Finish my PhD/Postdoc and actually have a career
    3. Have babies!!!
    4. Be on my way to that significant contribution to science that's going to win me a Nobel.

    I think that's a good start for my 14 year plan :)

I have also nixed the age-milestone goals. They just don't always work out, and it can get depressing. Instead, I just look forward to the next big things: graduating college and starting a family. :)

Funny story - I have my goals in my portfolio.  My new boss told me that he really liked them when he was reading them.  One of them was "Advance to a management position and have an impact at the executive table."  I am now a manager and have an impact.  muahahahahaha! Scratch it off!

    Anyhoar....

    Before I'm 30 I want to:
    - Buy a house (with at least an acre of land) with FBD
    - Start our family
    - Visit Holland
    - Run/walk/jog a 5K
    - Gets me an SUV/Crossover

Wow, clearly I'm the old lady of the group!

    Before I'm 40, I'd like to:
    -be married to BF
    -Make BF a BD :)
-have managerial responsibilities besides just interns/student workers
    -maybe MAYBE do a half-Ironman

We already have the nice house and dogs. I'm pretty blessed.

PS Sometimes these things come back to bite you in the a$$. At 29, I had no BF and 'nothing' to show for my life. I bought a house. 4 years later, I had to short sell it, so my suggestion would be not to do something because you're a certain age and feel like you HAVE to. Make decisions because they are the right ones for you. (End of PSA)

My next age milestone will be 25. I hope to...

    ... be a home owner.
... have at least an undergraduate degree.
... have a full time job.
    ... have a new car.
... have travelled to and around Scotland, and also either Paris or London (or both, but I'm trying to be realistic).
    ... adopt 2 kittens.

After that, it's more travelling, going back to school (maybe), buying a larger home, and having a couple of kiddos (in that order). I hope to have accomplished those things by my mid-late 30s. But who really knows at this point. I'm only 21.

Before Im 30 (bc before Im 27 isnt gonna happen I turn 27 in a lil over a month)

-Have a career going, or at least the first step towards it.
-Get my license back (bad accident in 04, and now all that is keeping me is $)
-Get a car that will carry all 3 of my children.
-Be married (I wanted this to happen long before NOW).
-Make friends, would be easier if I could leave the house, and had outside places to socialize then with my kids).

-And if I CANT be married then I want to be in my own place, alone with my kids. My thoughts on it all, I dont want to get married if its just settling (Im madly in love with my bf), and I rather just raise my kids alone till they are older then maybe but dunno.
