Not Engaged Yet

I'm not being BSC, I swear.

I'm Facebook friends with Alena Fede, who is an up-and-coming fashion designer out of Charleston, SC. (A dancer friend of mine has done some modeling for her.) Her stuff is absolutely amazing. I'm ordering a cocktail dress later this year, and she's going to custom-make it for me according to my measurements, in addition to re-designing the back of it to show a little less skin. Yayyyeee. :)

Anyway, lately, I've been seeing bridal collection photos in my news feed. Observe the gorgeousness:

I'm filing the idea away of possibly having her design a wedding dress for me someday. Le sigh! Anyway, just thought you gals might like to see a fun new designer!

That's a whole lot of "dramatic" I couldn't carry that off.  But it is a beautiful dress.

Lyn, haha. I couldn't pull that particular dress off, either, because I'm too curvy and short to do a whole ton of horizontal ruffles like that! But it's beautiful, and I do look forward to seeing what else she turns out in bridal.

The dramatic aspect would be okay for me, I think. Ballet and Theatre have given me a deep appreciation for ruffles and statement/borderline costumey pieces, if artfully done. :)

LOL. I'm sure this one is mainly a promo/photoshoot look, and when someone orders it, the ready-to-wear style will be scaled back somewhat. I mean, can you imagine bustling that thing?

    I still love it, though.

I'm 95% sure that's the Yacht Club (or the Beach Club? They're right next to each other).  It's right next to Epcot.

Beautiful spot, but you couldn't pay me to get married at Disney.  Too many people walking by (I saw a bride when I was there for my half marathon - she was NOT HAPPY about the crowds), and it's really really overpriced.  Plus I find the food in general kind of blah.

Hmm... architecture looks identical to Beach/Yacht Club, and the beach shot reinforced that.... but looking at the picture with the water view, I see the wedding pavilion, which would mean you are correct.  The Grand Floridian has a view of the wedding pavilion, but the Beach/Yacht Club looks at the Boardwalk.

Gosh, I've been there too much recently!

You're right, that came off harsh.  I'm sorry for that!  I just meant to consider it for its pluses and minuses - I know that bride I saw taking pictures by the Beach Club was pretty annoyed with all the crowds.  Disney paints this awesome fantasy image, which is awesome, but it also has a reality of being a theme park.

Cate- I didn't get to say so earlier because I was leaving work, but I did take your comment to come off as harsh. Thank you for realizing that it could come off mean. ETA: and apologizing.

Honestly I would love to have a Disney wedding but it's not realistic. My family is too large for anything like that to ever happen. My mom is one of eight, all of which have children and some of them have children. Also my dad is one of six and my step-dad one of three. Tack on BFs side, and there are already too many to have a Disney wedding, never mind being able to have friends come to the wedding. Oh, and I am not engaged, so planning this wouldn't be happening at all, any time soon.
