Planning before you're engaged

I thought you guys might enjoy this post from Failbook:

http://failbook.failblog.org/2010/08/28/funny-facebook-fails-all-kinds-of-sad/

When I enlarge the photo, the text gets blurred. It says "Dear anyone who may be interested. If you like the way I look in these call me. All I need is a husband."

Reminds me of the chick who set a timeline for getting married and went on talk shows looking for a husband. Some bitches be crazy.

    Fo reals, GPB.

This is clearly meant to be just a silly photo, but it makes me think of the girls that come on here asking if they are allowed to buy the dress before their "future FI's" proposes. I mean, they reeeeeeally like the style and what if it isn't in stock by the time they're engaged!?

That was crazy. I told FI about that. He was like, "who's going to marry an insane person". She had already booked things. I know when you book things, they always ask for the groom's name. They usually require both the bride and groom to sign the contracts together. I wonder what she said.

She probably said, "Here's your money, now quit asking questions."

Maybe she had someone who was in on it with her, as a stand in groom?

Edit: LOL, I prefer leia's answer.

Reading the comments on that page, "I’m thinking she’s just trying on wedding dresses for the fun of it (yes, we women do that sometimes LoL)."

Um...we do? Must have missed a girl lesson. My best friend shoved me in a wedding dress when she was looking and I felt like an idiot.

Yeah I didn't try on any until I was engaged. When my friend was engaged, we went to a bridal salon so she could show me her dress then to DB to try on BM dresses. She was like, we should tell them you are getting married so you can try on dresses. That just felt really wrong to me. I didn't want to try on any until I was actually engaged. She was kind of pissed that I wouldn't play dress up with her.

I looked online at dresses for years, whenever I got in one of those dreamy moods, but never tried one on. I can't wait to try my first dress on in 2 weeks :).

July 7, 2007 was a BIG wedding day, everywhere, but esp here in Vegas, being "777' and all. There was a story around then of a gal who had booked a chapel for that day like 5 years earlier or something 'cause that's when she wanted to get married. Of course, she had no BF at the time. She didn't end up using the chapel on 07-07-07 either.

I like to look at dresses sometimes, but I would never go try dresses on without being engaged. So much BSCness out in the world...

My(NEY) friend told me the 3 things she needed to plan her wedding:
    1) Beer
    2) Minister
    3) Groom
    In that order.
    (jokingly of course)
I told her she was 2/3 of the way to the altar. :) How's that for planning without being engaged?

I think that lady is pretty much the definition of BSC. When they made the phrase "bat sh*t crazy", that's exactly the type of person they had in mind. LOL

IDK. A girl in one of those situations where she and her BF are, for all intents and purposes, engaged - like, date picked, family knows, etc. - and she's just waiting for a formal proposal, I think she could be justified in shopping a few blow-out sales to avoid missing any good deals.

However, that's rarely what people mean when they talk about trying on dresses before they're engaged. And playing "dress-up" is for 6 year olds.

Some people are wedding obsessed. It's really sad.. But i guess everyone wants to find that special someone to spend their life with...

I could tell you a story of a woman that went on TV in a wedding dress, veil, and everything and said that she was waiting for some dude saying that she wasn't leaving until she married that dude. I didn't finish watching this show and don't know what happened, but I think this dude would be a moron if he gave in and married her. Too sad and hilarious at the same time. LOL.
