Bad Things by Jace Everett is also in heavy rotation with me as of late. Yes, I'm a True Blood fan. Doesn't mean the song isn't totally B.A. in it's own right. :)

well I'm late here but adding anyway;favorite sea creature= NEMO (I'm obsessed). Seriously though, I have to go with sting rays/ manta rays/ any kind of rays. Lurve them!favorite song right now= anything by Yiruma. it is very relaxing. And I recently just had an Eagle Eye Cherry and Savage Garden kick. (like a chica-cherry cola!) corny, but whatever.ps. it is shark week on Discovery. Awesome.

Eh, I have a love-hate relationship with Shark Week. Love, because, well, it's an entire week about sharks. Hate, because they tend to show a lot of documentaries that either a) sensationalize the hell out of sharks/shark attacks or b) show members of the scientific community doing really stupid s**t (e.g. Survivorman showing a shark going after a fake arm...after he surrounded it with chum and practically rubbed a dead fish all over it...hardly scientific). But I figure if the general public learns at least something good about sharks and it prompts them to help conserve their populations, then I won't complain too loudly. :)

Late to this, but oh well :) Sharks are my favorite- hammerheads the number one. I got to swim with some sharks at a Sea World type place in Australia two years ago- Amazing, awesome and there was a baby hammerhead in there! Song- Breathe me by Sia. It's old but I love it. Anyways, found this cool thing with shark week- an online petition to stop shark finning :) here's the link: http://www.oceanconservancy.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=12981

Thanks fletch! I snapped that one when I was camped on a beach in the Galapagos. Turned out we were there during the time of year when all the sea turtles were nesting. That one crawled right past my tent in the morning after laying her eggs.

Oh gosh, I love you guys! I wanted to be a marine biologist in elementary and middle school because I love manatees!<img src="http://tinyurl.com/lur56k"width="180px">My aunt once gave me a manatee stuffed animal named Monwalo. One of his fins was sewn on backwards so he was my "special needs" stuffed animal.

In regards to shark week, I generally spend the whole time saying, "Oh my goooooosssh!" and "Does he have a death wish?!" I enjoy hearing about the different sharks and where they go, what they eat, what they like to do for fun :) etc. I figure actual research doesn't go quite like it does on TV, but hey its fun anyway, and it beats the crap out of studying or cleaning.

And suddenly I no longer am curious as to why you want to go to South Africa. When I saw that in the other thread my immediate reaction was "haha, do you want to swim with sharks?" Now I know. :) My roomie in college always wanted to go swim with them. He's obsessed.I've yet to go to the ATL Aquarium. We're up there all the freaking time, but we always have plans. It'd be nice to go just visit and do the touristy stuff. BF's old roommate was actually in charge of the whale sharks before he quit to take a lab job in research. He swears he can get us in whenever we want for a behind the scenes look, but we have yet to take him up on it. Ugh.

A grad school buddy of mine's family lives just outside ATL and we've been talking about heading up there for months. If we actually make some serious plans, I'll let you know. Would love to see the aquarium and have a little Knottie goodness... :)
